The farm, family-run since the 1800s, had once produced regional cheeses using time-honoured methods, and this bowl was an essential part of that daily rhythm — used for resting milk and preparing curds in the cool of the stone scullery.
When we lifted it from the dust, the soft yellow glaze caught the light, worn, cracked, and absolutely beautiful. The bowl had worked hard, but with grace. It hadn’t been forgotten so much as left to rest.
