Forget everything you think you know about your body and food, and discover the new science of how the body heals itself. Learn how to identify the strategies and dosages for using food to transform your resilience and health in Eat to Beat Disease.

We have radically underestimated our body's power to transform and restore our health. Pioneering physician scientist, Dr. William Li, empowers readers by showing them the evidence behind over 200 health-boosting foods that can starve cancer, reduce your risk of dementia, and beat dozens of avoidable diseases. Eat to Beat Disease isn't about what foods to avoid, but rather is a life-changing guide to the hundreds of healing foods to add to your meals that support the body's defense systems, including: Plums Cinnamon Jasmine tea Red wine and beer Black Beans San Marzano tomatoes Olive oil Pacific oysters Cheeses like Jarlsberg, Camembert and cheddar Sourdough bread
The book's plan shows you how to integrate the foods you already love into any diet or health plan to activate your body's health defense systems-Angiogenesis, Regeneration, Microbiome, DNA Protection, and Immunity-to fight cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular, neurodegenerative autoimmune diseases, and other debilitating conditions.

Both informative and practical, Eat to Beat Disease explains the science of healing and prevention, the strategies for using food to actively transform health, and points the science of wellbeing and disease prevention in an exhilarating new direction.

A perfect read for the Christmas season!
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
This beautifully illustrated and lyrical picture book focuses on the little changes in weather, plants, people and more that lead up to Christmas! While most Christmas books focus on Santa, his reindeer, etc, And Then Came Christmas focuses on the tell-tale signs and traditions that people partake in such as hanging wreaths, searching for the perfect tree to decorate, hanging twinkling lights, and lining up to see Santa! This unique holiday read-aloud spans the entire 'season of Christmas', from the falling leaves and bare-branched trees to chilly days and glistening white snow and focuses on all our favorite things about Christmas! The illustrations have a soft and cozy aesthetic that makes this a perfect bedtime or storytime read, especially while snuggled up warm and tight with loved ones while waiting for Christmas!

Make this one a holiday tradition.
Format: Hardcover
This is a lovely book that offers the entire holiday experience rather than just Santa and gift giving. The author goes step by step addressing the signs (weather, shorter days, etc.) that take us to Dec. 25th. This is a "family tradition book" that you'll want to keep and bring out each year after Thanksgiving. Set this book on the coffee table in the living room so that everyone can enjoy it. Book supplied by publisher.

Signs of the Christmas Season
Format: Hardcover
Written in a lyrical format, AND THEN COMES CHRISTMAS is a children's book that illustrates various signals that lead up to the Christmas holiday. It begins with changes of the weather and includes cutting paper snowflakes, hanging colored lights, elves and Santa Claus in stores, looking for a Christmas tree, holiday concerts, making and wrapping gifts, and various other activities. The illustrations are warm and joyful and feature a bi-racial family. AND THEN COMES CHRISTMAS makes a good book to read in mid-November and early December to children.

It Should be Read by Parents and Children Together
Format: Hardcover
I will always remember that when I was a child, I read Manners Can be Fun by Munro Leaf with my mother. When I found out that 4 of his books, including Reading Can be Fun, were still available I hunted them down. As a parent and psychologist, married to a teacher, I believe that all parents should read this book, as well as the others, with their children at an early age instead of letting them watch TV unattended. It worked with my children. It is an investment well worth the time.
