From a "graceful, luminous writer with an eye for detail," this riveting memoir explores a year on a sustainable farm--and the real world epitome of Michael Pollan's food philosophy. "This book is the story of the two love affairs that interrupted the trajectory of my life: one with farming--that dirty, concupiscent art--and the other with a complicated and exasperating farmer." Single, thirtysomething, working as a writer in New York City, Kristin Kimball was living life as an adventure. But she was beginning to feel a sense of longing for a family and for home. When she interviewed a dynamic young farmer, her world changed. Kristin knew nothing about growing vegetables, let alone raising pigs and cattle and driving horses. But on an impulse, smitten, if not yet in love, she shed her city self and moved to five hundred acres near Lake Champlain to start a new farm with him. The Dirty Life is the captivating chronicle of their first year on Essex Farm, from the cold North Country winter through the following harvest season--complete with their wedding in the loft of the barn. Kimball and her husband had a plan: to grow everything needed to feed a community. It was an ambitious idea, a bit romantic, and it worked. Every Friday evening, all year round, a hundred people travel to Essex Farm to pick up their weekly share of the "whole diet"--beef, pork, chicken, milk, eggs, maple syrup, grains, flours, dried beans, herbs, fruits, and forty different vegetables--produced by the farm. The work is done by draft horses instead of tractors, and the fertility comes from compost. Kimball's vivid descriptions of landscape, food, cooking--and marriage--are irresistible. "As much as you transform the land by farming," she writes, "farming transforms you." In her old life, Kimball would stay out until four a.m., wear heels, and carry a handbag. Now she wakes up at four, wears Carhartts, and carries a pocket knife. At Essex Farm, she discovers the wrenching pleasures of physical work, learns that good food is at the center of a good life, falls deeply in love, and finally finds the engagement and commitment she craved in the form of a man, a small town, and a beautiful piece of landBinding Type: Paperback

“Stylish and Spacious Jewelry Box, but Quality Could Be Better”
Color: White, Size: 2 Layer
The Casegrace jewelry box looks elegant and feels durable with a nice weight to it. The interior is soft and well-organized, with plenty of compartments for rings, earrings, and other pieces. It’s great for keeping jewelry neatly arranged and easy to find.
However, the top cover isn’t real glass — it’s more like plexiglass or plastic — and it doesn’t lift open, which was a bit disappointing. The outer material looks nice but feels like it could start to wear or peel over time.
Overall, it’s still a stylish and functional jewelry box with good storage space and a clean look, but the build quality could be a little better for the price.

Top tier rotating jewelry box; soft and great quality
This has got to be the most functional jewelry box I’ve ever seen. It’s not very traditional in design and I love that about it. It stands vertically and rotates! Every side is designed differently and constructed to house multiple types of jewelry. I tried to snap a picture of each angle. I like that it has features to keep the jewelry organized too, like the necklaces or bracelets that can be hung on clips/rungs and placed neatly inside a pocket which kind of binds it into place and lowers the chances of it tangling.
There’s even a mirror that you can look into when putting your jewelry on. It seems like the box favors rings and necklaces more-so than earrings (which I have most of) but you can get creative and place earrings in the pocket that’s under the mirror flap or inside the drawer. This is definitely worth its value—it does not disappoint! 5/5:)

Perfect for my wife! Great quality and durability
I’m very impressed with this spinning jewelry box! My expectations were pretty high before receiving it, and I’m happy to say they were definitely met.
The materials used are top-quality and have a pleasant, fresh wood scent. The felt lining inside is incredibly soft and adds a touch of luxury. All the drawers open smoothly, except for the side ones, which are a bit stiff—my only minor critique. I wish they glided as easily as the rest.
Functionality-wise, this box is excellent. It offers plenty of space for storing a variety of jewelry pieces, and the spinning feature is smooth and effortless. After a few days of use, it’s been a completely enjoyable experience.
Overall, this is a beautiful, well-made piece that combines quality, functionality, and elegance. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a stylish and durable jewelry storage solution.

Lots of storage for jewelry
So much more organization for my jewelry! It spends very easily and has plenty of storage. I like the large mirror on one side, the multiple earring holders as well as many necklace holders too. I really love how you can pull out the two pieces, that definitely adds more storage than if it was only a flat side. There's even a spot specifically for bracelets and watches. One of the sides actually has a cover you have to pull down, which I feel like gives it extra protection from dust or moisture, but has a glass window so you can see in. I like the smaller ring holder in that spot just because I don't own many rings. But I wish the one that holds the bracelets didn't have as many ring holders because that's not very useful to me. The other thing is it is very difficult to work my way behind the earrings to put the backs on, so I wish there was a way to take those out, put the earrings in, and then put them back.
There's also a nice little extra spot up top and clothes on all sides to store more things. So overall it is helping to keep my cabinet and vanity a lot more cleaner. The price for me is a little high though in my opinion.

Great Spinning Jewelry Box
If I could give this more stars and recommendations, I would! There are different compartments for every piece of jewelry you might have. And with my recent obsession with jewelry, this box has been quite handy! The design, along with the organization of each piece, is top-tier, plus it rotates!
