Old maps are included, specifically dealing with the county, as well as the Turnpike. Several maps and drawings were in this collection, which are also included in this book. Primarily, these records represent the roads around Asheville, and several dealing with streets within Asheville. Of all the county records which I have transcribed, this county has more law suits than any other. Therefore, there are more legal arguments, than petitions for a new road, altered road, or discontinuing a road. Sadly, no bridge records were located. Each document was photographed (so you can see the signatures), and then the pertinent parts are transcribed and indexed for quick searching. Modern maps are included if they can assist in locating the old-area being discussed.
