This vest is made with vintage handwoven fabric from Cote d'Ivoire. It's an ikat strip cloth, meaning the pattern is achieved by tie-dying the thread before weaving it! It's then woven in small strips that are joined together to make a small sarong like cloth that is just enough for one piece of clothing, this one.
The handmade and vintage nature of this fabric means it has signs of wear, these can be small holes, raw edges, stains or mending. These are not considered flaws but add to the richness of the textile and the garment.
