ESU Profi Decoder Tester – The Easy Way to Test Your Decoders

Ever wanted to test a digital decoder before installing it into a locomotive? The ESU Profi Decoder Tester makes the process simple and reliable. Just connect it to your command station or the ESU LokProgrammer, and you can check any decoder’s performance without the influence of a locomotive’s motor, lighting, or wiring.

  • Universal Compatibility
Equipped with all common interface sockets used in smaller scales:

    • 8-pin NEM 652

  • Support for Non-Standard Decoders
Decoders without an interface can be connected via individual terminals.

  • Built-In Motor & Indicators
A high-quality coreless motor with flywheel lets you assess smooth running, low-speed performance, and speed consistency. Directional LEDs show motor output at a glance.

  • Lighting & Function Testing
LED monitors check operation of headlights, tail lights, and AUX1–AUX6 function outputs.

  • Integrated Speaker
A 20 mm loudspeaker is included for testing LokSound decoders. The speaker can be set to off, 100 Ohm, or 16 Ohm, making the tester compatible with all generations of ESU decoders.

  • SUSI Interfaces
Two SUSI plugs are provided for testing add-on SUSI modules or connecting to an additional circuit board.

  • Simple Connections
The Profi Decoder Tester connects easily to a command station or LokProgrammer using the supplied removable 2-pole terminal block (the same system used on the LokProgrammer and ECoS). Alternatively, solder points are provided.

European oil… Japanese engine… zero regrets 🇪🇺➡️🇯🇵
Size: 5 Quart, Style: Full Synthetic, Configuration: 0W-40, Size: 5 Quart, Style: Full Synthetic, Configuration: 0W-40
Yes, I know what the label says. “European Car Formula.” Yes, I put it in a 2002 Subaru WRX bugeye with an EJ257 block and EJ205 heads. And yes—this oil absolutely slaps. This engine is not stock, not delicate, and definitely not living an easy life. It sees spirited driving, boost, and the occasional questionable decision. After switching to Mobil 1 0W-40, cold starts are smoother, oil pressure is rock solid, and the motor just feels happier. No weird noises, no drama, no oil consumption surprises. The viscosity is perfect for a performance Subaru build, especially if you’re running tighter tolerances or want strong protection under heat and load. It’s thick enough when hot, flows great when cold, and inspires confidence every time I turn the key. Is it technically “European”? Sure. Does my Subaru care? Not even a little. If you’re running a built engine, turbo setup, or just want a proven, high-quality oil that punches above its weight, this stuff earns its reputation. My bugeye may not be European, but it’s living its best life on this oil. Would absolutely buy again—passport not required.

Works if you need help. Not a miracle in a bottle.
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
It has worked every time I've used this product. Won't fix a damage catalytic converter but will help you pass the test if your car almost passed.

Worked like a charm.
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
Used it as directed. Down to an eighth of a tank. Poured it in and added enough gas to get back to one half a tank. Wanted to get it mixed in really well. Immediately jumped on the interstate and ran 75 MPH for 40 miles. Stopped and filled the tank and when I restarted the engine, the light was off. Coincidence? Not a chance. Light had been on continuously for weeks. AutoZone said I needed a catalytic converter. Nope. One thing I found out the hard way. If your gas filler has a flap at the top, make sure it is easy to push aside. Mine had a little release button near the top that the filler hose would depress before the flap would release. Dumped the first bottle right on the ground. Twelve bucks wasted. No one to blame but me, I guess. Still a bargain, even at twice the price.
