Sami Baha is a Turkish producer based in South East London. His music was introduced to the world via his 2016 EP 'Mavericks' (Planet Mu), recorded while he was moving from Istanbul to London where he's now been living the last 3 years. Sami got into producing through being a rapper himself, working with local rappers in Turkey and producing beats for them, before setting his sights outside the country. While his first record was focused around a more familiar trap based hiphop sound, 'Free For All' expands it's range into more unfamiliar territory and also brings his production into focus by featuring a number of MCs from all corners of the globe: UK drill squad 67's Dimzy, Stockholm's Yung Lean and Chicago rapper and singer DJ Nate (aka Flexxbabii) who's previously recorded on Planet Mu as a footwork producer. The record also features the rowdy sing-song of Egyptian MCs Dawsha and Abanob from Cairo whom Sami met while on tour in Egypt.Musically, Sami's production is refined and elegant, familiar tropes are reassembled in original ways, the instrumentation reflecting his background and influences simultaneously. Take the Turkish style guitar and piano of the title track or the bells, bass and rippling hihats of 'Aliens' which beautifully rearrange familiar trap elements to create a sweet, emotionally charged song. Everything Sami brings to the album sounds relaxed and minimal, but tough, built from thoughtful arrangements and instruments, shot through with emotion and a dreamy night-time feel. The title and front cover (devised and photographed by Beyza Ucak) carry the contradictions of Sami's music beautifully. He says 'Free For All' reflects his musical background, combined with modern genres, but also it's a gaming term where every player fights each other. The graffitied cover is from Sami's neighbourhood where he takes a walk everyday. He says "Sometimes it feels as if I am the only one around". Andy Greenberg is a terrific writer!
Format: Kindle
I absolutely love all of Andy's books. I've read them all, and his style of writing puts me right there in the action. I'm a heavy reader, so it takes a lot for me to be so moved as to write a review. This book is freakin amazing. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. It's part investigative journalism, true crime, crypto hacking, blockchain shenanigans, I LOVE IT! It's a nerds dream novel, but easily enjoyable from someone unfamiliar with bitcoin or the blockchain. Such a wild story, holy moly. I can't say enough good things about this book. I bought 4 copies (3 to give to my sons), and I just now purchased the Kindle Edition. Thanks Andy for all your incredibly rigorous investigations and work that you do.

Quality research and intriguing storytelling
Format: Kindle
This is quite a story. While it requires some in depth explanation of technologies, the heart of the book focuses on cyber crime investigations, the business and economic impact of crypto currency and a slew of interesting personalities.

Really enjoyable read on following cryptocurrency and how it happened
Format: Hardcover
Andy Greenberg is a GREAT storyteller and podcaster. Anything he writes is a must read. Tracers in the Dark was a super enjoyable, easy read. He covers, using people and stories, the basics of bitcoin and the people who try to follow the money to catch cybercriminals. I knew most (but not all) of the people and stories he covered, but Greenberg added a ton of detail I didn't know. He added timelines and color that fleshed out what happened, in each story and the overall timeline. It's a great, easy, read and I'm a better cybersecurity defender for having read it. Although don't read it for any super technical details. You're not going to learn the details of blockchain, bitcoin, or blockchain analysis...only how it's done, generally, and the people involved.
