Easy to read indicator and designed for modern Ethylene Glycol antifreeze
Number of floating discs indicates level of antifreeze protection.
Tests at hot and cold temperatures and reads in Celsius and Fahrenheit.
Floating orange disc shows over protection and loss of efficiency.
50/50 mixture - the coolant will boil at 107 deg C (228deg F) and freeze at -37deg C (-34deg F)
70/30 mixture - the coolant will boil at 135 deg C (276deg F) and freeze at -64deg C (-84deg F)
Solution with more than 70% antifreeze will give less protection.
Pure antifreeze will freeze at -21C (-6 F)


Note! Distilled or deionized water should be used for Ethylene glycol solutions.

City water is often treated with chlorine, which is corrosive, and should be avoided.
One of the best method to determine if the coolant is properly mixed is to measure the strength or concentration of the antifreeze with a hydrometer.
After checking then you can safely decide to add more antifreeze or distilled water

As you read through the story, you are transported to the trail, so vivid her recollections and descriptions of their experiences. Griffin found: "I found my very soul had acclimated to the natural world, and I was completely in tune with the Earth and the sky and the water surrounding me." Such an inspiring memoir! Three middle-aged women hike the mighty John Muir Trail, the crown jewel of California that covers over 200 miles of steep and rocky terrain in the Sierra. It was a big deal. The 3-week wilderness trip extended over multiple, high-elevation passes, crossed roaring water and rose to the summit of Mount Whitney, the tallest mountain in the contiguous US at 14, 505 feet. Griffin’s storytelling comes naturally and with ease. This inspirational, follow-your-dreams story is easy to feel surrounded by because of Griffin’s vivid writing. Luscious accounts of landscapes, macro details of the natural world and the knee-knocking, quad-stabbing terrain puts you, the reader, right there. Conversely, the detailed prose is a huge liability in the pacing of this book. Mundane details are redundant as the book slogs on. Long descriptions overtake the read and the focus stays superficial. I would have liked much more character development, and better cadence and dialogue.
