Ventilation gaps are situated along the sides of the unit, just below the overhanging roof, to help facilitate air flow throughout the interior of the item, and a 2" diameter opening on the back panel of the house is covered by a thin, metal plate that easily rotates to allow for simple access when maintenance or cleaning is required. The extended, flat landing space at the base of the domicile offers additional perching and resting space for songbirds as they approach the abode's entry, and a metallic hanging loop rests on top of the roof for easy display.
