EL SALVADOR A COUNTRY OF WONDERS

WELCOME TO

EL SALVADOR

Welcome to a captivating 7-day tour of El Salvador, beginning in the vibrant capital of San Salvador. Discover the historic charm and modern energy of Centro Histórico before venturing to the colonial gem of Suchitoto. Finally, unwind in La Libertad, where days are spent soaking up the sun and surf in Surf City. This experience offers a perfect blend of culture, history, and coastal relaxation for an unforgettable experience in El Salvador.

EL SALVADOR A COUNTRY OF WONDERS

Depending on the arrival time, we will make a stop in San Salvador for a walking tour of the city, visiting its main attractions, including the Iglesia El Rosario. This enormous concrete church may appear nondescript from the outside, but its architects have cleverly designed a spectacular arched roof covered entirely in fanned-out windows of colored stained glass, casting a rainbow of natural light onto the tiled floor. This unusual and abstract piece of art sharply contrasts with the colonial and classical architecture found elsewhere in the city, such as the grand National Palace.

EL SALVADOR A COUNTRY OF WONDERS

Upon arriving in Suchitoto, settle into your accommo- dation and begin your exploration of this picturesque colonial town. Wander through its cobblestone streets, admiring the historic architecture, and visit iconic landmarks such as the Santa Lucía Church and the charming Central Plaza. Indulge in the flavors of Salvadoran cuisine with lunch at a local restaurant, immersing yourself in the town's culinary delights. Spend the afternoon leisurely strolling through the town, exploring its art galleries, and discovering unique handicrafts. As evening approaches, treat yourself to dinner with a view overlooking Lake Suchitlán, savoring the tranquil ambiance and local flavors.

EL SALVADOR A COUNTRY OF WONDERS

Rise early to embark on a nature-filled adventure outside of Suchitoto. Head to Los Tercios Waterfall, where you can revel in the natural beauty of the surroundings and take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters. Afterward, return to Suchitoto and delve into its cultural scene with a visit to the Centro Arte para la Paz. Explore the art exhibitions and work- shops that offer insights into the region's history and traditions. For lunch, opt for a cozy café in town, savoring the relaxed atmosphere and authentic Salva- doran cuisine. If time permits, consider a scenic boat tour on Lake Suchitlán, where you can observe the diverse wildlife that inhabits its waters. As the day draws to a close, depart from Suchitoto with cherished memories of its cultural richness and natural splendor.

EL SALVADOR A COUNTRY OF WONDERS

El Salvador's Ruta de las Flores is a picturesque route comprising charming villages, each boasting distinctive colonial-era architecture. Intended for leisurely exploration, visitors can savor the local cuisine and ambiance. Ataco, our lodging destination, stands out for its vibrant street art adorning the town's buildings. Juayua, another key stop on the route, hosts a renowned weekend food festival, coinciding with our trip. The festival features numerous street food stalls offering delicacies like barbecued meats, prawns, and even fried frog skewers and guinea pigs. Dessert options abound, from ice cream to sweet buns paired with locally produced coffee.

Our day entails a journey along the Ruta de las Flores, pausing at various villages to experience their unique charm and indulge in delectable cuisine. Additionally, we'll likely visit the Cascadas de Don Juan in the morning for a refreshing swim before returning to our hotel in Ataco in the evening.

EL SALVADOR A COUNTRY OF WONDERS

Start your day with an early morning surf session at one of La Libertad's renowned surf breaks. Spend the morning riding the waves and honing your skills in the warm waters of the Pacific. Afterward, take a leisurely stroll along the beach, exploring the coast- line and soaking up the sun. In the afternoon, consider visiting other nearby attractions such as El Tunco Beach or the iconic La Libertad Pier. As evening approaches, unwind with a sunset cocktail at a beachfront bar before enjoying dinner at a local restaurant.

EL SALVADOR A COUNTRY OF WONDERS

Today is dedicated to relaxation and enjoying the beauty of La Libertad. Spend the morning lounging on the beach, reading a book, or simply soaking in the sun. For a bit of adventure, consider renting a surfboard or booking a surf lesson to further explore the waves. In the afternoon, take a leisurely stroll along the coastline, admiring the stunning views of the ocean. As the sun begins to set, find a cozy spot on the beach to watch the sunset, capturing the breathtaking colors as they paint the sky. End the day with a delicious dinner at a beachfront restaurant, reminiscing about your time in Surf City.

EL SALVADOR A COUNTRY OF WONDERS

On your final day in La Libertad, take one last stroll along the beach to soak in the sights and sounds of the ocean. After breakfast, check out of your accommodation and prepare for your departure. If time allows, consider visiting a local market to pick up some souvenirs or enjoy one final meal at a beach- front restaurant. Bid farewell to La Libertad and Surf City as you head to your next destination, carrying with you fond memories of your coastal getaway in El Salvador.

Obsessed. Soothing, effective, fragrance-free, incredibly healing
Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
I’ve been loving this so much I bought a second bottle after a few days of using it. It has all the skin soothing benefits of the tolerance lotion cleanser, but it’s also a really great cleanser. It’s almost not noticeable how good it is at cleansing because your skin doesn’t feel stripped after, but it takes things off really quickly. I was worried because it doesn’t foam a lot and it feels so nurturing — much like the tolerance lotion cleanser (which I use as a second cleanse when my skin needs a few days to recover from something like a derm office treatment) — but when I wash again with my favorite HG cleanser nothing extra comes off, and I tested it twice on waterproof eyeliner that I’d swiped on my forearm for an hour or so, the eyeliner dissolved and wiped off with two or three gentle swipes. It has a very emollient texture, so when you rub it against your skin it slips so easily you don’t realize it’s dissolving and taking things away because there is no friction. So it’s great at taking off makeup, it’s AMAZING at cleaning makeup brushes, and IT DOES NOT BURN MY EYES AT ALL. Also, it is FRAGRANCE-FREE… before I bought it I read a review complaining about smelling a citrus fragrance, that person either has some sort of brain tumor or something spilled on their bottle when it was in a warehouse because this is definitely a fragrance-free product. Prior to trying this, I had tried another cleanser that gave me weird acne hives all over my chest (never happened to me before) and I was struggling to heal the acne and the irritation. I noticed an immediate difference when I started using the tolerance cleanser on it; the fresh redness went away, the acne started healing, and the post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation has been healing fast. So I’ve been using this on my body as well and it’s soothing and moisturizing in all the places where other things have been drying. I have mild rosacea and I hadn’t realized how irritated my skin was from the last thing I’d tried until after 5 days or so of using this my skin tone looked much more even and the stubborn PIH I have from a two-zit hormonal breakout a month ago finally looked dramatically lighter (as recently as the week before, I’d needed to cover them with high-coverage concealer). Because this doesn’t foam much, some people might not realize how well it’s cleaning… I encourage you to judge it based on how your skin looks and feels. Since it is very emollient though, I do think it’s important to use it with a face wash scrubber or washcloth just to ensure you’re getting some mild mechanical exfoliation and clearing away skin cells that could be trapping stuff in your pores. For this reason, I do wash my face with this twice so the first wash can get off makeup/debris/oil and then the second wash can really penetrate and clean my skin.

No Scent and Gentle
Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
I broke out in a case of Perioral Dermatitis recently and bought this product to help before I could see my doctor. Avene Tolerance facial cleanser has no scent and is very gentle on my skin. It didn’t burn when washing with this product, and even helped to slough off the dead skin around my lips. My face feels clean, not dry. I am still going to see my doc to get an RX for the inflammation, but I do believe this product helped to alleviate the dryness and tightness of my skin and lips. I’ve used other Avene products and I’m very happy with them. Even though these products are more expensive, to me they are well worth the money because they are much more gentle on the skin than any other products I’ve used. I will buy this product again just because of the fact that it’s so gentle. PS: at the time of purchase for this product, I also bought Avene’s Tolerance Control Skin Recovery Cream (you don’t need to use a lot of this one on your entire face), and Avene’s Cicalfate for lips. Between these 3 products, my lips and skin feel a lot better (however, I will still see my doctor because I have Crohn’s Disease and Perioral Dermatitis is considered an extra-intestinal side effect of Crohn’s).

Gentle everyday cleanser!
Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
My go to nightly cleanser! Gentle yet effective. Removes makeup without leaving any residue behind. Also does not dry out my skin or cause breakouts! I would say it’s more of a cream cleanser though. It does not really foam up. It’s a decent size bottle for the price. The pump dispenser is an added plus!

So gentle and moisturizing. Great for super sensitive skin.
Style: Tolerance Daily Foaming Facial Cleanser
This is so gentle and moisturizing. Does not irritate my skin in any way. My skin is super sensitive and I have atopic dermatitis, it has been the best cleanser I’ve used to date. I was using another one from this brand and it was fine but this is the one I will continually stick with from now on. Just hope they don’t change the formula.
