The best known and most widely reported of these was the revival of 1949-1951 under the leadership of the Faith Mission evangelist the Rev. Duncan Campbell.
However, what is less well known, is that there were, over the years, a number of more localised awakenings throughout the island. One man who was instrumental in several of these between 1934 and 1957 in the Point area was Lewis-born minister, the Rev. William Campbell. This is the story of these awakenings.
