My grandmother Bertha Hofrichter Lenchitz was from Powoloczyska, Austria. My grandfather Harry Lenchitz descended from the renowned Rabbi Shlomo Ephraim Luntshitz, better known as Kli Yakar. Part I also contains a detailed chronology of my personal life growing up in Brooklyn, New York to my arrival and life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Part II is a compendium of detailed information about family members and a genealogy dating from my forefathers, as far back as the 1500Õs.
It is hoped that this family history will become a stepping stone for my children and grandchildren to continue to maintain the strong family bond that guided and nourished me throughout my lifetime.
