The water flow of the Sera X-Edge corner filter is fully adjustable and can be directed using the provided spray tube. Alternatively, the duckbill nozzle creates a gentle spray, which can also be utilized to enhance oxygen supply: air is drawn in through the injector with the Air-Set, mixed with water, and then released into the aquarium.
Moreover, as with all Sera filters, safety is a key factor in the design of the Sera X-Edge corner filter. Corner filters can pose risks to fish and shrimp. Attention is required in two specific areas. Firstly, fish may swim behind the filter and risk getting trapped. To mitigate this, a "Swim-stop" feature has been integrated to deter fish from entering that space. Secondly, juvenile shrimp may crawl into the filter media, which can be hazardous for them. To prevent this occurrence, precisely fitting filter media are utilized.
Installing the corner filter is remarkably straightforward: The holder affixes to the glass using four suction cups, and the corner filter snaps onto the holder. For cleaning, the filter can be detached from the holder, or the filter cotton can be removed underwater.
