The last letter received by his parents, left him at the extreme white settlement Independence, Missouri], where they were busily occupied in making preparations for the expedition to the mountains--from whence he promised to write at short intervals; but one misfortune after another happening to the company, he was deprived of all sources of communication--so that no tidings were received of him until he unexpectedly returned to the scenes of his childhood, to the house of his father, in the fall of 1835--after an absence of 5 years and 6 months Written in response to popular demand, so to speak, Leonard's account of these years, based in large part on a minute journal of every incident that occurred, is recognized as one of the fundamental sources on the exploration of the American West. A free trapper until the summer of 1833, when he entered the employ of Captain B. L. E. Bonneville, Leonard was part of the group sent under command of Captain Joseph Walker to explore the Great Salt Lake region--an expedition that resulted in Walker's finding the overland route to California. I've been looking into various kits and components but this one seemed to fit my needs perfectly - all components included and the flexibility to cut strips (up to 6) to the lengths I needed. Its also very thin and needs no other mounting hardware, channels, diffusers, screws, etc.
No instructions - but everything only fits together one way except which end of the LED strip to connect to (polarity). For my reel, it was towards the center of the reel and not the freed end - which meant I had to cut a piece off and connect the end that was just cut. Insert the cut end into the connect after peeling off a bit of the blue tape. You can also peel off a little bit of the white tape beneath that to expose the copper contacts - but the connector contacts can pierce that layer if you don't want to peel off the white layer also. (Don't peel it all off, just enough to to fit into the connector.) Insert the end, press down the hinged part until it clicks or is otherwise all the way clamped - don't need tools, just your fingers squeezing it is enough. Test the assembly by plugging it into the power supply. You can also connect the remote - a blue LED on the power supply tells you whether its on or off.
Once I figured out which end to connect to, everything was quite straightforward. I installed my 6 strips in my small pantry - one for each shelf - and routed all the wires to one side, mostly hidden. I mounted the remote on the pantry door - it can sense through the door - which is not very thick - as well as just tapping it once the door is open. The remote can be touchless - just wave your hand near it - but it seems to also sense tapping from some objects. Holding down on the remote activates dimming - it will cycle through brightness and stop when you release.
Other than that, its as simple as I had hoped and took me about an hour to install (I expect my next install will be 30 mins). I am planning to order more kits for other closets, kitchen, etc.

UPDATED: Replacement works great

FINAL UPDATE: Seller shipped new power unit and it works great now. The lights are really great and super easy to cut to size and use.
UPDATE 1: Seller got in touch and is sending replacement power unit. Will update again once it arrives.
I do really like the look of these and they did wonders for a dark park of my closet that has built-ins.
ORIGINAL: Lights stopped working after about 6 weeks (beyond the 30 day return policy). Seems like the control unit died. Haven’t found any feasible way to contact seller or manufacturer. Will update review if anything changes.
