Every blade is hand-forged from layered Damascus steel with a twisted pattern. The forge-welding process builds strong edge retention and cutting stability into each blade. The Story Behind This Knife
During Japan's Edo period — from the early 1600s to the mid-1800s — professional chefs used a dedicated knife for every single ingredient. A blade used for fish was never used for vegetables. This culture of specialization drove Japanese bladesmiths to develop some of the most refined knife profiles ever made — the Sujihiki for clean slicing, the Nakiri for flat-contact vegetable cuts, the Petty for detail work, and the Gyuto for general prep. Each shape was refined over generations until it reached its most efficient form. This 5-piece set brings those same specialized profiles into a handmade Damascus build.

How is this different from the 4-piece olive wood set?
This 5-piece set adds a Utility and Petty knife and uses black bolsters. The 4-piece set uses steel bolsters and includes a Santoku instead.
What does the Nakiri knife do?
It cuts vegetables with a flat, straight-down stroke no rocking. This gives clean, uniform slices through cabbage, leeks, and root vegetables.
What is the difference between Sujihiki and Gyuto?

I recently switched to this mineral sunscreen after having irritation and redness from several chemical sunscreens, and it has made a big difference for me. My skin is sensitive, but this one feels gentle and comfortable without causing burning or itching. It gives me good protection and doesn’t leave my skin feeling worse by the end of the day. I’ve tried a lot of skin tints and this one actually surprised me. The Colorescience Flex Shield gives that “your skin but healthier” look without feeling heavy or greasy. I love that it starts white and adjusts to your skin tone — it blends in really naturally and evens everything out without looking makeup-y.
The finish is glowy but still skin-like, and knowing I’m getting SPF protection at the same time makes it perfect for everyday wear. On busy days this has honestly replaced my foundation.

The best sunscreen I've tried

Both of my parents and both of my maternal grandparents have had skin cancer at least once, so sunscreen is an absolute must for me. I also have sensory processing issues and can't stand sunscreens that smell artificial and/or leave my skin feeling sticky or greasy. Finally, my skin is super sensitive, so I need a sunscreen that I can apply daily without causing a reaction.
I've tried literally hundreds of different sunscreens at all different price points, but because of my rigid list of requirements, I've usually ended up spending a fortune on sensitive-skin-formulated face moisturizers with SPF and using them on all my exposed skin in place of normal sunscreen, because they've been the only options I've found that check every box.
Enter Hawaiian Tropic sport sunscreen. Sure, it doesn't absorb into my skin quite as thoroughly as my favorite SPF moisturizer, but it's also less than 1/6th the price for 8x the quantity. It also has a nice scent that doesn't give me a headache (no overtly chemical smell), only barely leaves my skin feeling greasy, and doesn't cause any irritation with daily application.
It's the only "normal" (non-moisturizer) sunscreen I can stand to wear. I literally have one bottle in my car, a second in my purse, and a third in my medicine cabinet at all times.

My top choice for outdoor sun protection

This sunscreen is so important to use for exposed skin sun protection. Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen ( 50 SPF ) is, in my own personal opinion, the best on the market.
