Rose petals, rosehips, and blackberry leaves blend peacefully to yield a bright, coppery cup.
Midnight Rose Black Tea is designated OP, referring to Orange Pekoe, a grading designation for black teas determined by leaf size and wholeness, and signifying a better quality tea. Typically not used for flavored tea, we used this tea to stand up to the rose flavor.
The 'Orange' in OP refers to the Dutch royal family and/or the coppery color, though not related to flavor.
June is the month we celebrate roses in all their glory. Midnight Rose Black Tea is a blend to enjoy all year, especially when those bushes may be dormant and not blooming.
So often, rose teas can be overpowering and leave a strong, floral flavor in the mouth, but not so with Midnight Rose Black Tea. This tea is an excellent option for an Iced Tea, softly astringent.
Brewing Instructions for Midnight Rose Black Tea
Steep this tea multiple times. Loose-leaf teas have far more flavor than traditional tea bags due to their superior quality and freshness. Tea strength is a personal decision, so please experiment to determine your preferences.
Use boiling water and allow your Midnight Rose Black tea to be steep for as little as 3 minutes or as much as 6 minutes. For each of the following steeps, use boiling water and double the steep time.
The black teas can be steeped at least 3 times and, depending on the steep times, as many as 5 times.
Also, consider blending the first steep with the following steeps to balance the tea; if you do not want to drink all the tea, store it in the fridge for excellent iced tea.
Store in a dry place.
