This button is from the late 20th century when women's fashion included buttons on their garments. The colours found in the button inspire my wool fleece choices. Here this blue diamond shaped steel cut facet in the center is attached on top of an ivory carved shell which is inside a blue steel rim. Circa 1890s.
To create this brooch I work with coloured carded wool fleece, needle felting the wool into a unique design. It is then hand sewed and beaded with a lock brooch pin on the back.
The dimensions are: width = 2 " and the length 2 1/8".
