WQ Carbon Cush Stainless Steel Lava Tip | Stainless Strength With Soft Cush Control

Overview

The WQ Carbon Cush Stainless Steel Lava Tip brings dual impact control to one high performance PDR tool tip. Built from polished stainless steel for clean, powerful blending strikes, this upgraded Lava tip also includes WilleyQuick’s removable Carbon Cush Cap. The cap uses a rubberized carbon weave design that softens impact, reduces vibration, and helps protect sensitive surfaces.

With the Carbon Cush Cap installed, the tip delivers a smoother, cushioned strike ideal for soft crowns, aluminum panels, and delicate finish work. Remove the cap and you get the full precision and strength of polished stainless, perfect for controlled blending and tight knockdown corrections. This two in one design gives technicians the ability to switch instantly between soft control and raw stainless accuracy.

Compatible with WQ magnetic quick change knockdowns and most standard PDR tools, the Carbon Cush Stainless Steel Lava Tip is built for versatility in both shop and mobile repairs.

Detailed Features and Benefits

Stainless Steel Lava Body for Clean Blending

The polished stainless surface glides smoothly on painted panels. It delivers consistent, even strikes that support strong blending control on both steel and aluminum.

Removable Carbon Cush Cap for Soft Impact

The Carbon Cush Cap features a rubberized carbon weave for softer, cushioned contact. It reduces vibration, limits surface marking, and gives a more forgiving feel during delicate panel work.

Two Impact Modes in One Tip

  • With the cap: softer, smooth strikes for gentle blending

  • Without the cap: firm stainless precision for controlled knockdowns

This flexibility supports a wide range of PDR work without needing to change tools.

Engineered for Vibration Reduction

The cap absorbs vibration from each tap, helping you maintain stable control and reducing fatigue during long repair sessions.

Built for Aluminum and Soft Panels

Aluminum panels respond best to softer impact. The Carbon Cush Cap helps prevent overstretching and texture issues while still giving you clean metal movement.

Compatible With WilleyQuick Magnetic Quick Change Tools

The tip fits the WQ magnetic quick change knockdown system and most standard threaded knockdowns or blending hammers.

Professional Use Case Scenarios

Soft Crown Blending With the Cap

Use the cushioned mode for soft crowns, large aluminum panels, and sensitive areas where a hard strike may cause texture.

Stainless Precision for High Spot Correction

Remove the Carbon Cush Cap to access tight highs, refine small pressure points, and correct surface tension with accurate stainless impact.

Finish Work and Transition Blends

The cap mode helps tune subtle texture and finalize corrections before polishing.

Retail and Hail Repair

Switch between cushioned blending and sharp knockdowns instantly without changing tips.

Mobile PDR Technicians

The dual mode design lets mobile techs carry fewer tips while still having full blending control.

Comparison to Standard Lava Tips

Standard Lava tips offer one strike feel. The Carbon Cush system gives you two options in a single tool.
Soft plastic tips may not hold up to heavy use. The stainless core provides long lasting precision.
Metal tips alone can be too aggressive for aluminum. The Carbon Cush Cap softens impact when needed.

Why Choose WilleyQuick

WilleyQuick designs tools that solve real workflow challenges for PDR technicians. The WQ Carbon Cush Stainless Steel Lava Tip fits into the WilleyQuick system of blending tools, magnetic adapters, and precision tips. It offers both soft and firm strike options in one design, supporting fast tool changes and clean, controlled blending across all repair stages.

Maintenance and Care Guide

Clean the stainless body and cap after use.
Inspect the Carbon Cush Cap for wear and replace if the surface becomes uneven.
Keep threads clean for smooth installation.
Store in a protected tray or magnetic holder.

Proper care ensures both impact modes stay consistent and reliable.

Great stories from the fifties that I did not know existed until I opened this book. I hope there are more stories to come.

Just for Fun
You can't help, in reading these stories, remarking on how comics (and popular culture in general) reflect what we want on our minds and how we want to feel about ourselves. Superman today is intense. He fights apocalyptic battles, and he sometimes loses! There's a lot at stake -- everything, EVERYTHING, lies in the balance. Superman himself seems literaly beyond human. In order to live the life of challenges he faces, he must be beyond the concerns of everyday life -- he can't really share in the life that the rest of us live. Superman in the fifties lived in a much more comfortable, stable world, and his own life was much more continuous with ours. In these stories, he discovers that he is not alone -- his long last pal, Krypto, shows up, and he discovers his cousin, Supergirl. He has girlfriends -- Lana Lang and Lois Lane compete for his attention (without a lot of the psychological anxiety that Superman will face in the future over his inability to live a normal life and raise a normal family). The villains, like Lex Luthor, aren't even purely evil -- they have their limits. Bizarro is not evil at all, just . . . dumb and amusing so long as Superman can repair any damage he does. It's a little bit trivial to point out how comics reflect cultural reality, but . . . they do. It's fun to revisit the fifties here -- i suspect it's not so much an innocent age as one in which the story we told ourselves about ourselves (as in our Superman comics) was focused where we wanted it to be focused -- family, friends, the pleasures of everyday life. But, putting aside all the sociology and pretenses of cultural history, these stories are just fun to read. It's not the Superman we know now, it's just different, a change of pace, fun.

Fun Times
Format: Kindle
Best Collection from my youth. Although I was not born until 1957, my dad's first cousin was an avid DC Comics collector, and these 1950s stories were the bulk of my experience of Superman during my 1960s childhood. Contrast the fight against fellow survivors of Krypton in this volume with that in Man of Steel. Here are the primary colors, can-do spirit, and ultimately optimistic view of science and the future so fondly remembered by older fans. In the end, there is probably no reconciling the angry countercultural gloom and discontent of modern comics with these gems of the past, but if as I you are sick to death of the politically correct socialism, these are a much needed breath of fresh air.
