18" Bodhi Tree Gong (#UIT946)

These beautifully engraved bronze gongs are hand-made in Nepal. Each gong presents a rich, bell-like sound with a bright, complex fundamental tone. They build to a bright, complex but concentrated wash, wrapping you in a bath of overtones.

According to Buddhist traditions, the first human being achieved enlightenment, or became the Buddha, underneath a Bodhi Tree. "Bodhi" is Sanskrit for "enlightenment," so "the Bodhi tree" translates directly to English as "the tree of enlightenment."
