We call these gongs Atlantis Gongs because we imagine, if our film director/submariner James Cameron, were to discover Atlantis in one of his old up and downs in the Marianas trench, and he was to bring up a gong from there it would look like our Atlantis Gong.

The 28" Chau Gong is a delight. Handmade in Wuhan China, we import it directly for you.

Made of bronze, the Chau Gong comes out of the oven completely dark-colored, like the outer ring and bullseye, then the gong makers skillfully lathe off the dark part to reveal the shiny ring in the center. They do this on the front and back. The Chau has a rim on its outer edge, and that is where the two holes are drilled that a rope can be put through to hang the gong.

The 28" Chau Gong has a deep meditative quality and can be built to a loud volume that can lead to the classic gong wash.

The 28" Chocolate Drop Gong is similar to the Classic Chau Gong. In fact, it is basically a Chau Gong with the outer dark ring lathed off. It is made of bronze and has a thick rim on its outer edge that helps focus the tone.

The Chocolate Drop Gong starts from a nice deep fundamental, similar to a Chau Gong, but then the Chocolate Drop will splash, crash a little faster than its cousin the Chau. This is thanks to the outside dark ring being lathed off.

The 28" Dark Star Gong is made only for Gongs Unlimited. It is a heavy beast of a gong. Heavier than a Chau Gong, or other similar gongs of its size. With this much bronze, you hear deep deep tones. The Dark Star Gong is the subwoofer of gongs. It is profundity as its nature. It doesn't strive for it. While the thickness of metal keeps the Dark Star Gong deep in tone, the lathing of the bronze in the center, brings out an interesting musicality and flow.

Yes, the 28" Solar Flare Gong can build to a crash, but the tone is less wild. The concentric rings of unlathed bronze hold down the crash.

You can also play it softly and keep the tone clear without the crash of a Wind. Like a solar flare it can be a tone that flies out of the gong from a point and then is done.
