French ironworker and designer Gilbert Poillerat (1902-1988) is one of a handful of the most renowned metalworkers of the 20th Century. He studied engraving at the Ecole Boulle in Paris and in 1921 until 1927 worked for the world-famous Edgar Brandt in the rue Marat in Paris as a designer and creator of wrought-iron furniture and furnishings. In 1927 he joined the carpentry and metal construction workshop of Baudet, Donon et Roussel, in charge of its new wrought iron section. He designed and produced grillework, tables, chairs, consoles, screens, lighting and firedogs. His work was exhibited for the first time at the 1928 Salon d'Automne. Working in a variety of media from jewelry to clothing, Poillerat's metalwork was rendered in characteristic winding calligraphic forms. He designed a bronze door for the 1935 ocean liner, Normandie. His commissions included work for the Bibliotheque Nationale and the Palais de Chaillot. In 1946 he became a professor at the Ecole Nationale des Arts Decoratifs and set up his own workshop. Abandoning furniture and furnishings he turned to monumental wrought iron work, filling a number of commissions including those for public and governmental buildings and the Palais de Elysée (the French White House). In 1957 he designed the façade ironwork of the new synagogue in Strasbourg. He often worked with another prominent French designer, Jacques Adnet.

Very easy to assemble. Good quality. The material is thick enough to block the light and gives much needed privacy.

Storage may be a problem

Worked as expected however storing it was not so easy. The feet did not collapse one over the other but provide privacy.

Perfect size, good privacy
Size: 4 Panel-88‘’Wide, Color: Black
This is a good divider. The dark, thick panels provide blockage from the light. Assembly was not very hard, but it wasn't simple. I ordered this product two times in the past couple of weeks. The first time I assembled it, I noticed that the picture assembly directions aren't completely accurate. The labeled parts don't match the labels on the instructions. The wrench included in my box is too big for any of the bolts or screws used for assembly. After getting the right tools and matching against the instructions, I finally got it assembled. The divider I ordered this week is missing two wheels and there is no number for calling the supplier; thus, I seem forced to return it, instead of easily getting the two wheels. Once assembled, I am pleased with the end product and I consider it a good value.
