Allow purple martins to colonize in your yard with the Nature House Purple Martin Pioneer House - 12 Rooms. This home was one of the first ever built from aluminum, which helps keep the martins cool during the hot summer months. Such construction also offers durability to your martin house and will last several seasons. Each of the twelve 6"L x 6"W x 6"H compartments is the perfect size for martins and has a 2.125" diameter entrance hole. Each compartment also has an individual lift up/snap out door, so you can clean one out without disturbing the other nests. Guard rails along the porches of the home prevent babies from falling out of the nest and allow martins room to perch and preen. This is also accomplished with an included 22" roof perch. A set of twelve winter door stops close the home when your martins migrate south. The Pioneer House is compatible with any pole with a 1.25" outside diameter. We suggest the  (not included). This is a nice compliment to other classroom instruction materials. I am teaching an advanced pathophysiology course in a nurse practitioner program. This book is very helpful for students to put together the concepts of patho with the clinical setting. Will use these for in-class group assignments. Case-studies are thorough and offer a variety of different disease processes to choose from. It certainly does not offer a case study for every possible disease or clinical scenario, but does cover most major areas and enough variety in my opinion. Should be helpful in reinforcing the clinical significance of some difficult to understand concepts. I would recommend this text to course instructors.

The cases are helpful; however, realize that there are NO answers whatsoever to the questions presented in the cases--not a huge problem I suppose, b/c you can google everything, but certainly an annoyance. (esp. when there are multiple possible answers. The author states in the foreword that some of the cases are real; in which case, why not provide the justification presented in the patient's chart as to why that patient takes a particular drug, esp. considering that you may take a drug for its side effects rather than its therapeutic effect. . .anyhow. . ) I think if the author provided at least SOME insight/guidance to the cases that it would be much more helpful, but until then, I'm skeptical as to why others gave this book 5 stars.
