Design and Performance Enhancements

Built for Modern Demands

Inspired by mid-1990s designs, the P656 watches incorporate significant modern upgrades:

  • Crystal: Shatter-resistant sapphire with anti-reflective coating.
  • Water Resistance: Upgraded from 30m (1990s models) to 300m.
  • Magnetic Resistance: 18.8 Oe for durability in magnetic environments.
  • Shock Resistance: Complies with NIHS 91-10 standards.

Additional Features

  • Screw-down locking crown and caseback for maximum durability.
  • High-visibility numerals on the bezel for ease of use.
  • Optimized dial for readability in low light.
  • Swiss Tritium GTLS for brighter illumination compared to luminous paint.

Covert PVD Finish

The P656 features a matte black, non-reflective PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) finish, specifically designed for covert operations by special forces, anti-terrorist units, and police forces.

  • Durability: The PVD process chemically bonds the finish to the metal at a molecular level, ensuring superior longevity, even under harsh conditions.
  • Resilience: While extreme abrasion can cause damage, the finish typically lasts for years.

Dual Time Zone Tracking

To meet customer demand for simplified time zone tracking, the P656 replaces the traditional diving bezel with a 12-hour bezel.

Effortless Adjustment

  • Offset the bezel by the required hours to track a second time zone.
  • Example: In Paris, turn the bezel until 9 o'clock aligns with the 3-hour marker to track Miami (6 hours behind).

This feature maintains the 300m water resistance and classic diver watch aesthetics while increasing versatility.

Benefits of Sapphire Crystal

Synthetic sapphire is the superior choice for watch crystals due to its durability, resistance to scratches, and ability to withstand shattering.

  • Reliability: Ideal for military personnel, police, and outdoor enthusiasts, who represent over 70% of our customer base.
  • Enhanced Strength: Heat-treated sapphire offers unparalleled resilience compared to plexiglass or mineral glass.
  • Anti-Reflective Coating: Ensures clear visibility under all conditions.

The History of MIL-W-46374-G Watches and the P656

The P656 series traces its heritage to the MIL-W-46374F military specification, first issued on October 14, 1991. Further refinements to the specification during the mid-1990s resulted in the Stocker & Yale P650 Navigator, a highly regarded military timepiece developed for demanding operational use. The P656 carries forward many of the principles that made the original P650 such a successful and enduring design, as illustrated in the final image.

    Fast-paced and fun
    Format: Kindle
Kiyoshi Harai is 16 and a recent graduate of the exorcist academy. He’s insanely powerful, but the problem is, he’s terrified of demons, thanks to a childhood trauma. He also has social anxiety, which only shows on the inside. On the outside, he looks cool and glowering. The first volume follows Kiyoshi from his first assignment to his first exorcism post in the boons, which he chooses because of his hero who works there. He gets over his fear of demons pretty fast, thanks to a fatherly demon he needs to banish who gives him encouragement. At his post, he enrolls to a high school and gets to work on his other anxieties. This was a fun and fast-paced start to a series. Many demons were banished, but the line between good and bad people was blurry, and Kiyoshi made some unlikely friends too. Art was good. I’d read more.

    Loved it.
    Format: Paperback
I’ve never read a Tezuka book I didn’t like and this was another masterpiece. Reminded me of George Orwell’s “Animal Farm”. Throughout the book I was trying to figure out how it was going to end. I had my theories, but the actual ending was perfect and it made me laugh.

    Another Tezuka scifi classic
    Format: Paperback
The story is a collection of short, loosely connected, stories concerning birds. Attaining higher intelligence, they begin fighting back against humanity for dominance and freedom. The first few chapters are very reminiscent of Hitchcock's "The Birds" as they, seemingly out of nowhere, start attacking people and whole cities. Eventually there is a way to communicate and negotiate with them and a truce is made, however it doesn't end there. Many generations pass and birds start gaining larger brains, talking, wearing clothes, etc. And humans devolve into feral cavemen a la, "Planet of the Apes". It is worth noting that there is a chapter featuring a black character who is drawn in a outdated, racist, charicature style. As in all Tezuka books, there's a disclaimer about things like this given the time they were written. I believe, however, that it's worth mentioning as some people feel differently about things like that and with a disclaimer you can now decide for yourself if you want to make your own judgement of the work. That one part aside, I think the work is some of his best. His ideas and artistry really are top notch.
