Released on CD by Aurora Borealis back in 2010, the label present Black Mountain Transmitter's Black Goat Of The Woods on transparent smoke vinyl. An ode to the Lovecraftian lore of Shub Niggurath, Black Goat Of The Woods was conceived as "the soundtrack from some lost low budget horror movie, rediscovered on an old and faded VHS cassette found moldering in a deserted house in the depths of the woods". The one-man project of J.R. Moore, Black Mountain Transmitter has released several albums, all to great critical acclaim, and the quality of his work speaks volumes. The original Black Goat Of The Woods CD version was the first official release, and a reissue of the long sold-out and much sought after limited CD. On describing the recording, Moore said: "The music was certainly very much influenced by that certain breed of '70s horror films. Things like the soundtrack to the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), Giuliano Sorgini's atmospheres in Living Dead At The Manchester Morgue (1974); Carl Zittrer's soundscapes in Deranged (1974), Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things (1972), and Dead Of Night (1974), and of course people like Fabio Frizzi in Italian horror and the BBCs Radiophonic Workshop's electronic sounds in something like The Stone Tape and countless creepy old TV productions..." An excellent, macabre and psychedelic release that spans electronica, soundtracks, and experimental genres in it's 40-minute playing time, Black Goat Of The Woods pays perfect homage to the dark denizen of the nocturnal glades, and is a true paean to backwoods horror. Love a subtle glitter!

I am a big fan of glitter for going to events with my little daughter. She loves wearing glitter as much as I do. We both wear sunscreen, and I was interested in this because of the SPF promise. I also liked the idea of a sheer mist. I like to use glitter as a way to make up for not having a tan so I can still have a sort of sunny glow.
I am not sure how I feel about this as an spf product. I prefer to put on serious cream sunscreen and I would just use this as a touch up mist, or cosmetic refresher. The mist is watery up closely sprayed but it is light and weightless misted on from an appropriate distance. The dried mist on my skin does have a sort of barrier or feel of a sunscreen over something like a gel. There is a slight tack till dry but very subtle.
My sunscreen and makeup was fine under this mist. I do use mists to give my skin a natural texture so most of my products look good with a mist setting finish. The glitter is super subtle, but noticeable if you focus on it. In a low light setting I can see speckled glitter, and in direct sunlight. Just not clubbing or parade level body bedazzling glitter. I actually really like the fine glitter effect.
There is no fall off, and the glitter washes off super easy. My skin feels very happy and hydrated but not bothered by a coating or layer. There isn’t really an aroma, I swear there is when I mist but then I smell nothing on me but a faint notion of some product. Not powdery but a mild lotion like note. Very hard to detect unless you are literally nose to skin sniffing.
I think for the price this is a great fine glitter mist. I might continue to use my own sunscreen and not rely on this as a barrier. I take spf pretty seriously as a woman in my early forties. Overall I am really happy with this as a casual mist and I would buy it again to just wear because I like the texture and the effect.
The box did have unfortunate choice of colors for reading but up close I was able to read the ingredients and information. The bottle is pretty cute, and the mist nozzle pumps well without sticking or getting gummed up.

Lightweight sunscreen mist with a subtle glow

Lovely shimmer, but lingering scent and uneven mist are disappointing

I love the shimmer in this. And I love that there is spf. But the spray nozzle doesn't provide a fine mist, it's more like a splatter so it's hard to apply evenly. There is also a lingering scent that I find a little overwhelming to have directly on my face. I want to love it, but I'm giving it 3 stars for those issues.
