Near the end of her life, Mina Anderson penned a lively memoir that helped Swedish novelist Vilhelm Moberg create "Kristina," the central female character of his beloved emigrant novels, a woman who constantly yearns for her homeland. But Mina's story was quite different.

Showcasing her previously untranslated memoir, "I Go To America" traces Mina's trip across the Atlantic to Wisconsin and then the Twin Cities, where she worked as a domestic servant, and her move to rural Mille Lacs County, where she and her husband worked a farm, raised seven children, and contributed to rural Swedish community life.

Mina herself writes about how grateful she was for the opportunity to be in America, where the pay was better, class differences were unconfining, and children--girls included--had the chance for a good education. In her own words, "I have never regretted that I left Sweden. I have had it better here."

Author Joy Lintelman greatly expands upon Mina's memoir, detailing the social, cultural, and economic realities experienced by countless Swedish women of her station. Lintelman offers readers both an intimate portrait of Mina Anderson and a window into the lives of the nearly 250,000 young, single Swedish women who immigrated to America from 1881 to 1920 and whose courage, hard work, and pragmatism embody the American dream.

Joy K. Lintelman is a professor of history at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. Her specialties include immigration history and women's history.

Perfect iPad Case for Kids — Survives Drops!
Color: Purple
I bought this case for my daughter’s iPad and she absolutely loves it. It was very easy to install and feels really durable. The built-in stand is her favorite feature — she uses it to prop the iPad up during her Hooked on Phonics lessons and when watching videos. She also carries it with us in the car, and it has already survived a few drops onto concrete with no issues. The case does not include a screen protector, but I just added one separately and it works perfectly. It is a bit bulkier than my own iPad case, but that actually makes it easier for little hands to hold and carry. Overall, great protection and very kid-friendly design. Definitely recommend for younger kids!

Pretty colors, child proof protector (so far)
Color: Purple
Using for our daughters IPAD which is her learning tablet. So far its been really good no issues with applying it and the colors are super cute. There is a slot for an pen if you have one and the stand functions wonderfully. Only time will tell how well it protects the tablet from tiny hands.

Nice case
Color: Navy/Green
Nice case for my 5-year old grandson. It is sturdy & was easy to put together. As a special needs child it works very well for him however, he does have trouble with the portrait view of the case. When using the portrait view, the unit often collapses as the prop doesn’t always stay in the locked position.

Great quality and functional
Model: iPad 11th A16 2025/10th, Model: iPad 11th A16 2025/10th
Fantastic screen protector! Adheres flawlessly and is easy to install. Doesn’t interfere with screen functionality and doesn’t go cloudy or hazy with use. It fits perfectly on my iPad 11 and was an absolute bargain compared to other protectors that cost 3x as much and never stayed in place without bubbling. Color is crystal clear, you can’t tell it’s there and it is easy to clean too! I definitely recommend!
