The Dornier Do 335 Pfeil, meaning "Arrow" in German, was a unique heavy fighter aircraft developed by Dornier for the German Luftwaffe during World War II. It was one of the fastest propeller-driven aircraft ever built, capable of exceeding 750 km/h (466 mph), and was considered a revolutionary design with its unconventional push-pull configuration.

Its most distinguishing feature was its push-pull layout, where the two engines were positioned one behind the other, with the propellers on opposite ends of a long shaft. This configuration allowed for the slender fuselage and reduced drag, contributing to the aircraft's remarkable speed and maneuverability. It also enabled the Do 335 to serve as a bomber, with the rear engine providing extra thrust for takeoff and dive bombing.

The Do 335 entered service in early 1944 and was initially deployed in a fighter-bomber role. It quickly gained a reputation for its impressive performance, outperforming Allied fighters in speed and climb rate. However, due to the late introduction of the aircraft and the diminishing German war effort, it had a limited impact on the war.

The latest addition to the Oxford Aviation range is a 1:72 scale replica of the only Dornier Do 335 'Pfeil' still in existence. The original aircraft is on display in America at the Udva Hazy Centre, Smithsonian Museum, Washington DC. The model comes packed in an Oxford Aviation box and plinth to display the aircraft in flight mode.

Comparing to the coffee giant version

Starbucks comparison (from a personal standpoint): I’m fortunate enough to have a bottle of Starbucks Brown Sugar. Problem is, I’m almost out. Looking around at some alternative options, and reading the reviews- I see some saying this is a good substitute. Because I happen to have the syrup on hand, I figured I should see if it is, because it would be great given the low cost of DaVinci syrup. This picture I’m attaching is just to see the color difference. Consistency wise, the DaVinci syrup is much lighter, more runny. The Starbucks is definitely a thicker liquid, that runs much slower. Flavor is the big one: DaVinci is lighter on taste, and sweeter. The best way to describe the flavor is comparing DaVinci’s to 100% real maple syrup that’s been diluted down with water. It’s good, but not really similar (in my opinion) to Starbucks Brown Sugar. Starbucks is more smokey in flavor, more strong/bold. My drinks are made using espresso, oak milk, cinnamon powder, and ice. I made my drink the same way, but used DaVinci Syrup this time. I found that the same amount of syrup that I use for the Starbucks, didn’t feel like it had a strong enough flavor. What did I do? I added an extra ounce of DaVinci hoping to get a stronger flavor. The problem is, DaVinci is more sweet than the Starbucks syrup (in my opinion) and ended up making my drink taste too sweet. It’s sweet enough that I’m not going to finish drinking it. I’m not knocking the DaVinci syrup itself. I think it’s a good brand and a good flavor. It’s just not the flavor I was hoping would solve my issue for a Starbucks imitation. I would encourage anyone to still try this syrup, but do so to enjoy it for being its own flavor.

I don't know why someone would buy this expecting it to taste like real bananas like come on ppl lol. The only way to attain a syrup that tastes like real banana bread is to make it at home. This is an artificially flavored syrup so obviously it tastes that way! I have made banana bread syrup (more like a sauce) at home and it is delicious, highly recommend!! But this is way more shelf stable and tastes amazing in an iced latte as well! Different than home made but still good. To me this tastes like banana pudding mix which also has a fake banana taste. It also tastes EXACTLY like the new Dunkin banana flavored syrup which is what I was looking for! I use 1.5 tbsp syrup, a little vanilla paste, 2 espresso shots and 2 percent milk with plenty of ice. I like keeping my latte calories below 200 and not super sweet tho so you can up it to 2 tbsp. The cals in this are not terrible, 70 cals for 2 tablespoons. Usually my syrups have 50-60 cals for only 1 tbsp so I'm pleasantly surprised this is a little lower. I bought a second bottle because I'm afraid this is a limited release lol.
