KECO Dead Center® Crease Tabs – Precision Dent Repair Tabs for Controlled Pulling

The KECO Dead Center® Crease Tabs are engineered to deliver precise and clean dent pulling results, designed especially for paintless dent repair (PDR) professionals who need a dependable tool for challenging crease and valley dents. These tabs are built around KECO’s patented Dead Center technology, which optimizes the balance between rigid lifting power and flexible edge control.

Unlike traditional tabs that can cause over-pulling or incomplete lifts, Dead Center® Crease Tabs transfer force efficiently through their engineered face thickness and neck diameters. This design centers the pull force exactly where it’s needed—at the core of the tab—while allowing the edges to flex and prevent damage to the surrounding metal. The result is smoother, faster repairs with less risk of overcorrection.

Understanding Dead Center Technology

At the heart of the Dead Center® Crease Tabs is a patented design that precisely controls how force is applied during glue pulling. The neck-to-face ratio of these tabs is carefully calculated to provide a strong, focused pull at the center, where the metal needs reshaping the most.

  • Optimized Force Transfer: By concentrating lifting power in the tab’s center, technicians gain better control over the repair process, ensuring dents are pulled without pulling too much on the edges. This prevents common problems like metal stretching, tearing, or creating new dents adjacent to the repair site.

  • Edge Flexibility: The neck design allows the edges of the tab to flex slightly. This flex acts as a built-in safety valve, absorbing excess force that might otherwise over-pull or damage the panel. It helps protect sensitive creases and thin metal areas during the pulling process.

  • Smooth Face: The smooth tab face ensures a secure bond with the glue, enhancing pull efficiency and reducing the chance of tab detachment or glue failure.

Materials and Options

The Dead Center® Crease Tabs are available in two distinct materials, each tailored for different repair requirements:

Ice Material:
This extremely strong and rigid formula is designed for maximum pull strength and energy transfer. The ICE material excels in tough dent repairs where consistent, high force is necessary to reshape stubborn metal. Its rigidity helps maintain tab integrity throughout the pull, providing efficient metal flow and less effort for the technician.

Key benefits of ICE material include:

  • High strength and rigidity for powerful pulls

  • Efficient energy transfer from tool to panel

  • Durable and long-lasting in demanding repair environments

  • Ideal for heavy hail damage and deep creases

Blue Material:
While not described in the original snippet, Blue material typically offers more flexibility and vibration absorption, making it suitable for more delicate repairs or thin metal panels where careful control is essential. (If you want a detailed Blue material description included here, just let me know.)

Design Details and Dimensions

The Dead Center® Crease Tabs are designed with precision, balancing face thickness and neck diameter for optimal performance. This engineering provides:

  • Controlled pull pressure exactly at the tab’s center

  • Reduced risk of over-pulling or metal distortion due to edge flex

  • A strong glue surface that bonds securely and pulls effectively

While specific sizes and dimensions vary depending on the particular tab chosen, all Dead Center® Crease Tabs follow the same patented principle for consistent results.

Applications and Benefits

Ideal for Crease and Valley Repairs:
Dead Center® Crease Tabs are perfect for dents featuring sharp creases or valleys that require precise pulling. Their design allows the technician to focus the pull where the metal is most damaged, achieving a cleaner finish with less time spent correcting over-pulls.

Faster Knockdown Times:
By improving pull efficiency and control, these tabs help reduce the number of pulls needed to restore a panel. This translates into shorter repair times, increased productivity, and improved job profitability.

Minimized Metal and Paint Damage:
The edge flex feature helps prevent metal from stretching or cracking and reduces stress on the paint surface. This preserves the integrity of the vehicle’s finish and lowers the risk of costly rework.

Reliable Glue Adhesion:
The smooth face ensures maximum glue adhesion, helping prevent tab slippage or detachment mid-pull. This reliability boosts technician confidence and helps maintain workflow speed.

How to Use Dead Center® Crease Tabs

  1. Prepare the Surface:
Thoroughly clean the repair area, removing any wax, grease, or contaminants that could affect glue adhesion.

  2. Apply Glue:
Heat your preferred PDR glue and apply it evenly to the tab’s face. Ensure full contact with the metal surface, especially in the crease or valley.

  3. Position the Tab:
Press the tab firmly onto the damage area, allowing the convex face to conform with the dent shape. The neck design provides some flex, ensuring the tab seats properly without excessive force on edges.

  4. Allow Glue to Cure:
Wait for the glue to set as per manufacturer recommendations for the best bond strength.

  5. Pull the Dent:
Attach your pulling tool—slide hammer, lifter, or knockdown tool—to the tab. Apply steady, controlled force focused through the tab’s center. The edges flex slightly to prevent over-pulling.

  6. Inspect and Repeat:
Evaluate the progress after each pull. Use smaller or larger tabs as needed for fine tuning. Repeat until the dent is leveled as desired.

Compatibility and Use Cases

Dead Center® Crease Tabs work seamlessly with all major glue pulling systems and PDR tools. They are suitable for use with:

  • Slide hammers

  • Mini lifters

  • Knockdown tools

  • Glue pullers with adjustable tension

They are favored for repairing:

  • Hail damage with sharp creases

  • Door edge dents

  • Body lines and character lines

  • Small, detailed creases in tight spaces

Maintenance and Handling

  • Cleaning: Remove any residual glue after use with recommended solvents or gentle peeling.

  • Storage: Keep tabs organized and protected in their original packaging or a dedicated tab case.

  • Inspection: Check regularly for damage or wear, replacing tabs to maintain peak performance.

  • Glue Compatibility: Use with glue products recommended by KECO or other reputable manufacturers to ensure optimal results.

Customer Feedback

PDR technicians using Dead Center® Crease Tabs often report:

  • Improved pull precision with less rework

  • Reduced risk of panel distortion during pulling

  • Greater confidence when working on delicate creases

  • Faster job completion times thanks to more efficient pulls

The patented Dead Center technology is praised for delivering consistent results and making crease dent repairs more straightforward.

Conclusion

KECO Dead Center® Crease Tabs offer a professional-grade solution for handling challenging crease and valley dents. Their patented design focuses pull power precisely at the tab’s center while allowing flexible edges to prevent damage. Available in rigid ICE material for powerful pulls, these tabs provide paintless dent repair technicians with a tool that balances control, strength, and finish quality.

Incorporating these tabs into your PDR toolkit means faster repairs, fewer mistakes, and better protection for your customers’ vehicles.

Right from the start, I was drawn in by the prologue!!!
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
Queen of Roses (Blood of a Fae #1) by Briar Boleyn Genre General Fiction ( Adult), Romance, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Dark Romance “More primordial than the stars. My name was on his lips as he promised unspeakable darkness to any who came between us.” Right from the start, I was drawn in by the prologue!!! I’m a big fan of “touch her, and you die” vibes, but I mean, what’s also not to love about a unique Arthurian retelling with gender twists, a treacherous royal court, a dangerous quest, magical Fae & mystical monsters, entwined with a bit of spice! Morgan, Princess of Pendrath and true heir to the throne has spent most of her life dimming her light to feel safe and to make others comfortable. She is treated as an outcast in the court and repressed by her family due to the blood of the Fae within her and forced to join the Temple of the Three as a priestess in training to one day replace Merlin. Her brother, King Arthur, who reminds me of Joffrey from Game of Thrones, later tells her that he has other plans and offers her a choice of the Temple or to marry her off for political gain, unless… that is, she can journey through the great unknown and return with a long-lost fae weapon with enchanted powers known as Excalibur. Her quest begins with a roguish crew that includes the mysterious, arrogant, and heart-tuggingly handsome Captain of the Royal Guard, Kairos Draven, whom she can’t decide if she wants to stab or indulge in pleasure with. Along the way are plenty of surprises, mystical creatures, and betrayal, all while Morgan uncovers more of the truth about herself and who she can trust. This book had intriguing storylines and lovable characters that kept me turning pages and wanting more. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds and comes together in book 2, Court of Claws, which I just started reading!! Read if you’re into- Dark Fantasy/Romance Slow–Burn Question Everything Magic and Action Fae Arthurian Legend Stabby/Broken FFC Morally Gray MMC Forced Proximity Queen of Roses is perfect for Holly Black, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Sarah J. Maas fans. Please check the trigger warnings page in the table of contents before reading this book.

3.5 stars, A little boring to say the least.
Format: Kindle
Wow so I'm not sure where to begin on this one. This was a very different take on the legend of Arthur and Excalibur. This is told from the point of view of Morgan the sister of Arthur. Honestly the first 50% of this book is world building and character building which unfortunately was super boring for me. Morgan to me was a female MC that had a hard time in believing in herself. Sometimes taking too long to understand exactly what was going on around her. Draven was also a different male MC, like I couldn't put my finger on him and what he was all about. It was not until the last 10% of the book did we get some answers on the mystery that is Draven. The other 50% of the book centered around this big journey with everyone having a different motive. We see a spark of magic around this time that had me excited but then we never expanded upon that and what it could mean for the female MC. I feel like I want to read the second book just to see where this goes, but the spice was probably a 2 out of 5. Side characters are ok, Lancelet was fun but I almost felt like I wanted more.

A bewitching retelling of Arthurian legend!
Format: Kindle
In a land where the Fae have nearly become only a legend and those who still posses even a morsel of the blood are few and far between, Morgan finds herself cast aside by most of society due to her rumored half-Fae lineage, including her brother, King Arthur. With the kingdom at the brink of war, Arthur entrusts her with a quest to retrieve a Fae weapon of legendary power: the sword of Perun, Excalibur. Accompanied by men she loathes, Captain Kairos Draven and Ragnar Whitehorn, she embarks on her long and unbeknownst perilous journey, only to find that things she once believed to be myth are in fact very real. With devastating twists, omitted truths, witty banter and fierce action, Queen of Roses leaves you begging to know more about the secrets of Aercanum! Wow, wow, wow! Going into this story, I did not realize that it was going to be a retelling of Arthurian legend, especially not one with a fantastical twist! The unique spin almost gave me The Witcher vibes and I think adding Fae into the mix was quite interesting. I knew the basics of the legend but after reading this book, it has piqued my interest and makes me want to learn more about it. My attention was snatched as soon as I finished the prologue and I knew that I was going to devour this story. I truly enjoyed the gender swaps and even how Arthur was portrayed as villainous. Morgan’s past and even her parts of her present is absolutely heartbreaking, and I felt for her at times. I can only recall one other book that made me hate characters the way I despised Florian and Arthur, leaving me with my blood boiling and feeling disgusted. Even after finishing the book, Draven is still a mystery to me and I cannot figure out how to feel about him. I guess they just means that the author did an excellent job at conveying each character’s persona! The rich world building and imagery made it easy for me to visualize the places that the group visited along their journey. I am truly engulfed in this story and I cannot wait to see wait fate awaits Morgan and how the Fae will be even more incorporated in the next book!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Enchanting
Format: Kindle
"Queen of Roses" by Briar Boleyn is a delightful and refreshing reimagining of the classic tale of King Arthur, with a captivating twist that places the spotlight on Morgan, a character who has often been overshadowed in traditional retellings. Boleyn's creative decision to shift the narrative perspective to Morgan breathes new life into the story, offering readers an intriguing and compelling look at the Arthurian world from an entirely different angle. One of the most commendable aspects of this book is its incorporation of Fae elements, which adds an enchanting layer of magic and mystery to the already familiar Arthurian setting. Boleyn skillfully weaves the world of the Fae into the narrative, creating a captivating backdrop against which the events of the story unfold. This addition not only adds depth to the world-building but also provides ample opportunities for twists and turns that keep readers thoroughly engrossed. However, while the book boasts numerous strengths, it does have one noticeable flaw: the characterization of Morgan. While it is reasonable to create a flawed and complex protagonist, it appears that at times, Morgan's character becomes overly difficult and hard to relate to. Her persistently negative perception of one of the main male characters, who is a potential love interest, despite his efforts to support and assist her, may come across as somewhat irrational and could test the patience of some readers. Striking a balance between a strong, independent character and one who can recognize genuine support and affection could have enhanced the overall reader experience. Nonetheless, the allure of "Queen of Roses" lies in its innovative approach to the Arthurian legend and its skillful blending of fantasy elements into a familiar narrative. Boleyn's evocative prose draws readers into a world where magic, destiny, and fate entwine, leaving us eager to uncover the mysteries that unfold within the pages. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

An action-packed dark romantasy
Format: Kindle
I loved this book! Queen of Roses is an Arthurian-inspired dark romantasy that is the first book in the Blood of Fae series. The story follows Morgan, the princess of Camelot who is rumored to be part fae. Fueled by prejudiced hatred and a mistrust of fae blood, Morgan’s abusive father strips her of her birthright and hands it to her half-brother, Arthur. Instead of becoming queen, Morgan is commanded to join the temple of the goddesses when she comes of age. However, Arthur turns into a psychopathic, power-hungry, fae-hating king as he ages. He develops malevolent plans and commands Morgan to find an ancient weapon with legendary power. Although Morgan is wary of Arthur’s intentions, she embraces the opportunity to go on a journey and potentially change her fate. The story picks up from there and we follow Morgan on her quest to find the ancient relic. It’s full of high stakes adventure, mystery, tension, banter, forced proximity, hidden magic, self discovery, and betrayal. This first installment of the series intricately develops the world building and character development. There’s little romance in this book, but it is evident that it is a slow burn that will continue to develop throughout the remainder of the series. Overall, I loved the world building, the epic fantasy, Morgan’s journey of self discovery, and all of the twists and turns that set the stage for the future installments. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
