In March 1933, within a few short weeks of his inauguration, newly elected President Franklin Roosevelt immediately commenced a massive revitalization program to provide relief for unemployed workers across America. He proposed the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) to provide jobs to the next generation of Americans and preserve the land.
