Fern Falls is named after one of the many small waterfalls just off the N. Umpqua River trail. This 4 ply fingering weight yarn will be a workhorse soft enough for sweaters and shawls, but sturdy enough for socks.

This yarn has a standard construction of 4/16nm with 400m (437 yds) per 100g. Made with 75% Superwashe Merino wool and 25% Nylon, the merino fibers have been specially treated before being spun to enable it to be machine washable. The merino is combined with a smaller percentage of nylon giving the knitted fabric extra durability and strength making it harder wearing. The yarn is perfect for socks but can equally can be knitted into scarves, shawls or even baby garments which will feel soft next to the skin due to the fine micron merino used.
