God as Communion explores ancient and new meanings of the symbol of God as Trinity and brings the Christian traditions of West and East into dialogue. Through an exploration of the works of two contemporary theologians, John Zizioulas and Elizabeth Johnson, Patricia Fox retrieves this central Christian symbol and uncovers its transforming power for the Church and world today.

God as Communion shows how both Zizioulas and Johnson, from their very different theological traditions and starting points, provide a rich understanding of the symbol of the Triune God. Fox proposes we reclaim that doctrine of the Trinity as an eminently practical doctrine that challenges Christians and the Christian Churches to transforming changes in this new century.

Part one examines the trinitarian theology of John Zizioulas, which focuses on the formative and seminal period of the first centuries of Christianity. Part two examines Elizabeth Johnson's exploration of the mystery of the triune God in feminist theological discourse. Part three brings the trinitarian theologies of John Zizioulas and Elizabeth Johnson into a mutually critical correlation. Fox concludes that the respective theologies of Zizioulas and Johnson together provide a rich resource for the retrieval of this ancient Christian symbol.

Chapters under Part One: The Trinitarian Theology of John Zizioulas are The Trinitarian God - Persons in Communion, God and Creation, and The Church as Communion. Chapters under Part Two: The Trinitarian Theology of Elizabeth Johnson are Renaming the Trinitarian God, SHE WHO IS: The Being of God and Suffering, and Reclaiming the Creator Spirit, Women and Earth. Chapters under Part Three: Towards a Retrieval of the Symbol of the Triune God are Zizioulas, Johnson and the Retrieval of the Trinity, Pneumatology and Christology in Mutual Relation, Foundations for Trinitarian Theology: Persons, Naming, Structure, Trinitarian Theology in Practice: The Issues of Suffering and the Ecological Crisis, and Towards a Constructive Retrieval of the Symbol of the Triune God.

Patricia A. Fox, RSM, PhD, teaches Christian spirituality at the Adelaide College of Divinity at the theology school of Flinders University of South Australia and coordinates the Spirituality Office for the Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide.

A tiny natural loofah that cleans well.
I am thoroughly impressed. This little pouch is a game-changer for my skincare routine. It's the perfect size for holding my soap bars, and the natural sisal and ramie materials provide excellent exfoliation without being too harsh on my skin. The design is thoughtful and functional. It creates a rich lather, which makes my soap last longer and ensures a thorough cleanse every time. I love that it's eco-friendly and made from natural fibers, which is important to me as I try to reduce my environmental impact.

This handy little tool holds my soap and exfoliates my skin gently.
I bought this as a bag for my new shampoo bar so it'll last longer. This bag generates a nice lather, hangs off my shower caddy, and allows the bar to dry between uses. Makes shampoo bars much more convenient. The texture of the pouch remains scratchy after 3 or 4 uses so far but it produces a good amount of lather in combination with my bar soap. Hoping it softens up with use. Very good for exfoliating! The bag does have a canvas scent to it, but once you add water and lather up the soap inside it disappears. I love this bag. We always have a bunch of soap pieces in a basket on our tub, and now we can use them till there’s nothing left! My husband's biggest complaint when convincing him to switch to bar soaps with me was that they are so slippery in the shower and difficult to use. This thing is the ANSWER! It's the perfect sudsy, exfoliating grip for bar soaps that is still eco friendly - plus, the string is great for hanging on the shower head after!

Not too harsh
Each one holds a regular bar of soap. Not the wife’s imported French soap. Found the soap holds suds better if used while under water. Instead of lathering and washing first. Just wash under water. Trust me, it works better. The material is not harsh like a loofa. Gentle enough for the face and body. I can see how these will wear out after a few months. We have hard water and the material is already showing stains. Family likes them.

Great for preventing waste
I have been looking for a product comparable to this for ages and I am so glad that I found these. There are always little pieces of soap floating around in my shower and now this will ensure that they do not go to waste. I love that the bags are exfoliating and help my skin stay smooth in the Winter. For the price you absolutely cannot beat the value as you get a pack of 5. They are very durable and so far seem to hold up well. I highly recommend these soap saver bags to anyone that uses bar soap!
