Microcline is a type of feldspar that forms opaque blocky geometric crystals, the groupings often resembling cities and architectural forms. The mineral is near-white with parallel striations; this is called "perthitic" texture and is common in microcline, caused by the intergrowth of two varieties of feldspar.

Feldspar likes to grow as twinned crystals, meaning that two or more microcline crystals have intergrown and share the same crystal lattice. I'm not hip enough on my crystallography to tell you what types of twinning we are looking at, but the directionality of the perthitic texture can help you trace individual crystals and find the seams where crystals merge.

Feldspar might seem dull since it is near-white and opaque, but under bright light the surface has a flashy sheen. The name 'feldspar' actually historically originates from people observing flashes off cleaved pieces of the mineral in their fields: 'feld-' is 'field' while 'spar' was a term for rocks that easily broke along flat planes (cleaved) and had a shiny luster. Parallel lines that appear to extend through a feldspar crystal represent cleavage planes.

These specimens from the Tatatila region of Mexico are commonly accompanied smoky quartz, which provides a dramatic contrast. Smoky quartz gets its dark coloration from trace elements of iron that tint dark when the quartz is exposed to natural radiation within the earth (don’t worry, the specimen can't expose you to radiation!). Several specimens—C, G, and I for example—additionally have a few small dark green-tinted minerals on the feldspar's surface. Rusty orange-brown coloration is iron oxide staining.

UV REACTIVITY microcline feldspar can have slight red fluorescence which was present in many of these specimens; best viewed in dark conditions with a strong 365nm UV light.

This sunscreen body lotion is quite nice.
Style: Piña Colada
This sunscreen body lotion seems to work well. SPF 30 is the highest I could find with moisturizing capabilities. The smell is a bit overwhelming when you first put it on but it then goes away... so why the added scent. I wish it were SPF 50 and unscented. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Great stuff.

No weird smell or greasy residue, feels great on the skin. Tried it while on vacation (friend's lotion), and bought some when I got home. It is my go to now.

So refreshing, you’ll forget it’s sunscreen.
This stuff is fantastic. I love the super fine mist and how easily the pump works. It is soo refreshing and smells like fresh coconut. Ot doesn’t sting or burn my sensitive eyes, and it leaves my skin feeling revitalized and moisturized, not sticky or tacky. It feels amazing when it’s hot outside and you need a quick refresh and it won’t disturb my makeup. Coola is becoming one of my favorite sunscreen brands.
