Apart from learning how to use a sewing machine and machine accessories, we will also learn  how to plan for a project, cut out, sew seams, apply linings, and apply zips on small projects and larger ones

This is a mixed abilities course where you can step up a bit if you already know the basics, but equally, if you're new to it all it's relaxed enough not to be daunting. What's more, because some of the students are already a bit further on in the craft, they might at times be able to work by themselves. This allows me to work a little bit more with the beginners than on the normal beginners' course where there are lots more students who need a lot of individual help.

Projects tackled in this course are simple tote bags, lined tote bags, zipped make-up bags, and cushions. Everybody starts with these regardless of their ability as there is always something new to learn. Later on, you decide which way to go: Either patchwork, skirts, and later on quilts and dresses.
