This listing includes a wealth of material (40+ pages) for use with "The Civil War" much of it dealing with the "Untested Generals Issue."  A 100+ variant counter set introducing new counters (see the 1st picture below) to play the well-known variants "Battle-tested: A Leadership System for The Civil War by Glenn Rahman from the Victory Games Insider #6 and "The Civil War Variant Rules by Randy Moorehead and Barron Oder. (All counters are licensed, approved and produced by gamingthing)!  The counters with the generals' pictures as icons (shown in the 2nd picture below) are NOT included in this listing (they are shown to save you the trouble of flipping to other listings to see what they are like).  We offer 3 separate listings of Expansion material for "The Civil War" to allow buyers to pick and choose the materials that best suit them.  Some to all of the non-counter materials may emailed upon shipment of your purchase.  
      
The counters listed here are 1/2" size (as are other The Civil War counters), about the thickness of a standard counter (but not exactly the same thickness).  The Untested Generals Counter Set is laser printed!  The counters will be shipped individually cut rather than in uncut sheets.  The color shades of the actual counters may differ from those seen on your monitor.  Variant counters are sent to professional printers to produce a high quality product.   
                        
There is a lively analysis of the "Untested General Issue" along with variants to fix the problem.  Today, the differences in abilities between Robert E. Lee and virtually every Union general he faced until Grant are well known.  "The Civil War" game accounts for these differences, but in doing so each of the game's players has the advantage of vital future knowledge, which their counterparts Lincoln and Davis lacked.  Victory Games printed an important variant (included here) with a remedy and the gaming community ran with the ball from there.

The Civil War was one of the most played Civil War game systems ever published and drew rave notices from many quarters.  Its popularity was vital in establishing Victory Games in the minds and hearts of many of the gamers, cut adrift by the demise of SPI.  It is rated as high complexity with a high suitability for solitaire play.  There are 4 scenarios corresponding to a year in length, along with the campaign game which covers the entire war.  The Civil War is the winner of the 1983 Charles S. Roberts Award for Best Pre-20th Century Game.  If stuck on a desert island with only one Civil War game, many veteran Civil War players would probably choose this one!

I ordered a queen thinking my mattress might have been a queen as I previously bought some mainstays walmart sheets. with that brand the fitted sheet in full was way too small. turns out my mattress is in fact a full it is just that mainstays is not good quality or sized right, so this brand the queen is a bit big for my mattress but not too big of a deal. i am not looking for a perfect look, just covering the mattress is the most important. anyway since getting these sheets in the mail and giving them a run through the wash and dry before putting them on my bed my sleep quality has improved. the sheets are not too hot, are soft and I actually do not wake up as often as before. the sheets are not too thin like other brands and are not thick like flannel either. they are a nice in between. I wonder if they will help keep me cool in the summer, probably since they are actually breathable. I would definitely reccommend giving these sheets a try, worth the money and a good deal on sale. better quality that other store bought sheets.
