The Seiko Prospex Diver 1965 Heritage SBDC197 (globally distributed under the international reference SPB453J1) is a highly advanced, premium mechanical dive watch belonging to Prospex's core Sea Collection. Reimagining the legendary foundational layout of the 62MAS—Seiko’s and Japan’s absolute first professional dive watch released in 1965—this heavily upgraded generation redefines the brand's mid-tier heritage lineup with superior mechanical specifications and downsized, ergonomic proportions. The watch is engineered inside a compact 40.0 mm stainless steel case protected by Seiko’s proprietary DiaShield hard coating to provide exceptional resistance against daily scratches and abrasions. To maximize long-wear comfort on the wrist, the case architecture is sculpted with a low centre of gravity and a significantly shortened lug-to-lug length of 46.4 mm, matched to a refined oyster bracelet with short-pitch links that wrap flush and steady against the skin. The primary visual anchor is its high-contrast, tactical matte black dial, framed by a matching unidirectional countdown bezel with a finely brushed black insert ring. Powering this professional tool watch is the high-spec, in-house Calibre 6R55 mechanical automatic movement, beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and packing a substantial 72-hour power reserve that comfortably ticks through a three-day weekend without needing winding. True to its technical dive metrics, the dial utilizes deep, applied geometric index plots generously filled with high-intensity LumiBrite compounds to ensure pristine, rapid legibility in murky underwater depths or low-light situations. A major aesthetic refinement in this reference is the relocation of the date calendar to the 4.5 o'clock position, allowing for a symmetrical layout that preserves all twelve full luminous plots for strict ISO diving compliance. Upgraded with an elite 300-meter professional water resistance depth (a notable increase from the previous generation's 200m rating) and shielded by a scratch-resistant curved sapphire crystal, this robust tool watch bridges iconic Japanese horological history with modern technical execution.

Top-tier engine protection that runs quiet and smooth
Size: 5 Quarts
I’ve used Castrol EDGE in a couple of our vehicles and always come back to it for consistent performance. It extends the time between oil changes and holds up well under both daily driving and highway mileage. We don't "extend the time" though. It's changed, on the dot, every time. The consistency and quality of the oil's condition at change, though, is easily able to be seen that it would go for much longer. Engine runs quieter, and I’ve noticed better fuel efficiency over time compared to conventional oil. Whether that's how attentively I drive and watch the mileage meter on the dash or the oil - is up for debate ;) It doesn’t burn off as quickly either, which is great if you’re keeping an eye on long-term engine health. The bottle design pours cleanly with a smart spout, which saves unnecessary messes in the garage. Pros: Strong wear protection and long-lasting Improves engine quietness Easy-pour design Tip: Use it with a high-quality oil filter for maximum benefit don’t skimp on either part and you'll be golden.

Excellent choice for long oil change intervals.
Size: 1 Quart, Pack of 6
I'm a former dealership mechanic and for years I used whatever we had in the bulk tank which was usually Valvoline conventional. My last job was at a German car dealership. Castrol was the oil recommended by the German manufacturers and that's when I started using Castrol. In my experience Castrol is an excellent oil. My 2014 Ford just rolled over 242,000 miles and even with factory 10,000 mile oil change intervals, from what I can see through the oil fill the top end of the engine is still clean. I've never had to remove the valve cover. It's using about a quart between oil 10,000 mile oil changes which is great because when it was new it used about a 1/2 quart between changes.
