Paul's letter to the believers in Galatia contains this same form of zeal . . . but in reverse. He had learned the freedom and joy that comes from a relationship with God, and he urged his readers--and us today--to never trade that for man-made rules and practices. Paul tells us that we are justified by faith and can only find freedom in Christ alone.
