Thomas Hitchcock Jr. (February 11, 1900 – April 18, 1944) was an American polo player who was killed in an air crash during World War II. He was inducted into the Museum of Polo and Hall of Fame.
Born in Aiken, South Carolina, he learned the sport from his parents, Louise and Thomas Hitchcock Sr. His father was a U.S. Racing Hall of Fame horse trainer who had been a 10-goal player who helped found the Meadowbrook Polo Club on Long Island, New York, and who captained the American team in the inaugural 1886 International Polo Cup. Tommy Jr. played in his first tournament at age 13 and was part of the Meadowbrook Polo Club that won the 1916 U.S. national junior championship.
After the war, Hitchcock studied at Harvard University and Oxford University. In polo, he led the U.S. team to victory in the 1921 International Polo Cup. From 1922 to 1940, Hitchcock carried a 10-goal handicap, which is the highest ranking in polo, from the United States of America Polo Association. Playing with notable stars such as Pete Bostwick, Jock Whitney, and Gerald Balding, he led teams to U.S. National Open Championships in 1923, 1927, 1935 and 1936.
Author F. Scott Fitzgerald modeled two characters in his books on Tommy Hitchcock Jr.: Tom Buchanan in The Great Gatsby (1925) and the Tommy Barban character in Tender Is the Night (1934).

Absolutely recommend for active dogs or puppies
Color: Multi-colored
Absolutely recommend! I have a 10 month old puppy and he has been obsessed with this since the day I bought it a few months ago.

Base of you is very durable
Color: Blue
Overall this is a fun toy. My German Shepherd loves it. The ropes were chewed off within the first hour which was disappointing. Using it for treats did not work because the opening is so large. It has become only a chew toy and it is very durable. Since I bought this to enjoy the extra features, I am disappointed. I was able to buy three chew only toys for the same price. I still give it four stars because my dog likes it so much.

The dog will destroy the ropes and eat them be careful with this
Color: Blue
The rubber part is very durable but the strings or ropes are not. Puppy is eating the strings and having a hard time pooping them out. Just cut them off close to the knots and watch for them to eat the strings they pull off.

Is not as durable as they say for large dogs
Color: Multi-colored
My dog loved the fact he got a new toy and he loved the toy itself. Carrying it around and shaking it, that is.
The ropes are small and pop right back out of the ball. They are more for a small dog to tug on. The suction is strong but still not strong enough for a 100 lbs Rotti. He kept grabbing the eleasic ropes and pulling off the floor.

Even the rope is awesome!
Color: Multi-colored
The suction power on this wasn’t the greatest. Even using the sticky patch provided didn't keep it stuck to the floor. I will say though: I was terrified it would destroy the cheap flooring I put it on, but the sticky stuff didn’t harm the floor at all. The toy itself has been fantastic. My pup loves to chew on all parts of it (the ball, the suction piece, and the rope) and it’s held up against his jaws of steel. I will be purchasing another one of these once he’s finally destroyed the original (we’ve had it almost 3 months with just about daily use).
