Tufting is an ancient technique dating back to 5 BCE practiced by nomadic tribes and royal manufacturers in Persia. The modern tufting technique was developed in Georgia in the 1930s and rose in popularity in 1950s which encouraged Indian manufacturers to adopt the process. Hand-tufting yields a detailed product made from high-quality materials and consumes less time to make.
