New Vinyl Record - Tapscott, Horace - Giant Is Awakened
| The title of Horace Tapscott’s debut release is apt, if not self-referential, for indeed a giant of West Coast jazz had awakened with this, the pianist/composer/bandleader’s 1969 album for the Flying Dutchman label. Tapscott went on to form two groups crucial to the flowering of modern jazz in the Los Angeles area, the Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra (or P.A.P.A.; the name is an homage to Tapscott’s predecessor and peer, Sun Ra), which eventually became part of a larger umbrella organization, Union of God’s Musicians and Artists Ascension (UGMAA). Out of UGMAA came a host of LA-bred musicians, singers, and poets, including Arthur Blythe (who goes by Black Arthur Blythe on this recording), Stanley Crouch (who wrote the original liner notes), David Murray, Butch Morris, Wilber Morris, Jimmy Woods, Nate Morgan, and Sinclair Greenwell, Jr. (a.k.a. Guido Sinclair). And anchoring it all was Tapscott himself; as Kamasi Washington, whose vision of a large, Los Angeles community-based ensemble echoes that of P.A.P.A. and UGMAA, said in 2015: “Horace is one of the most important figures in the foundation of music in L.A., from both a purely musically and socially conscious perspective.” Our first, neon green vinyl release of this momentous record sold out in a heartbeat; now, we’re bringing it back in a black vinyl edition pressed at Gotta Groove Records, taken from high-resolution audio sources and complete with original gatefold artwork. A foundational document of West Coast modern jazz! |

Good product

I have used 1/2 bottle since December. Easy to use on dry skin, I use it before showering. I Probably don’t use it enough, simply because I forget. I have had dry peeling skin on my forehead recently and thought, oh I should use it there. I have to say, it made a big difference. One use and the dry skin came off and my forehead looks much better. I was having a hard time with makeup looking splotchy and now it goes on smooth.

Makes the skin smooth and soft

The product is wonderful. The first time I used it, it took off alot of the dead skin on my feet. Better than the "egg" or pumas stone. And bonus my hands are rough to and while rubbing on feet it rubbed off my hands as well and the hands are smoother too. NICE. Has a vick's vapor rub smell to it. Not overly strong. Im looking forward to having my feet smooth for the first time, ever!!! The only thing is the bottle it comes in. I could not get the sprayer to work. The off button worked beautifully but the on button did not work. When on it pumped but nothing came out. I even had my family and friends try to get it to work, but to no avail. So I put it in another spray bottle which worked and it was fine. Love the product!

Works great,smells like Noxema

This is a great exfoliater. I use it once a week from face to toes. The smell reminds me of Noxema wich I'm not fond of but it's dose rinse off well. Works on both wet and dry skin wich I like better than a different brand which only works on dry skin.

No change in hyperpigmentation

I've suffered with hyperpigmentation on my armpits and have been using this for about a month now. I don't see a difference as far as the hyperpigmentation. I use it every other day before I shower but I will give three stars since it does smell great and leaves my armpits feeling soft after each use.

This product works great but there should be a disclaimer or lil tip for my guys and girlies who have longer leg hair…you might perhaps trim the legs hairs first or skip the legs altogether cuz girl this ish pills tf up and it took me a good 45 minutes to get it off my legs lol. Think bazookah bubblegum stuck on your skin after blowing a bubble that exploded 😭 5 star product but deducting one star for my poor legs
