Erasing Time is a photographic record of a live performance celebrating 50 years of Sara Shelton MannÕs collaborative performances featuring photography by Robbie Sweeny. Spanning five hours and featuring over 40 artists, including members of the catalytic ensemble Contraband, the work was presented at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Dec 4-5, 2015. Featuring an extensive archive of both live performance and video projection, the event unfolded as a durational ritual.
With written memories from Jules Beckman, Lauren Elder, Kim Epifano, and Norman Rutherford, editing support from Elaine Katzenberger, with massive thanks to and energetic contributions from all the members of Contraband and our many many collaborators past and future. The Erasing Time book was supported by San Francisco Grants for the Arts/SPUN.
Erasing Time was co-produced by Mixed Bag Productions and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts . Funded by Kenneth Rainin Foundation, San Francisco Arts Commission, Zellerbach Family Foundation, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts.
