This limited-edition deluxe 4-CD box set includes remastered reissues of three classic Hiss Golden Messenger albums-Bad Debt, Poor Moon, and Haw-plus Virgo Fool, a bonus album of Hiss rarities available physically only with this collection. The iconographic artwork for each individual album as well as the box set and poster were designed in close collaboration between M.C. Taylor and artist Sam Smith to shed new light on this vital chapter in the Hiss Golden Messenger story. Each reissue features newly penned liner notes by Amanda Petrusich (The New Yorker), with John Mulvey (Uncut, MOJO) providing the essay for Virgo Fool. Individually numbered in a one-time pressing of 2,200 of each format, the four-album set is housed in a beautiful cloth-wrapped slipcase with three-color foil detailing and includes an exclusive foldout poster. Each LP, pressed on black vinyl, includes a two-sided insert with liner notes and full lyrics plus a download card, all inside a heavyweight jacket with a debossed cover.

Excellent Details
Format: Kindle
If you're like me, you've probably either never heard of these cases or heard about them in only the broadest of strokes. For remedying that, this book is excellent. Thomas provides a detailed account of how these complaints came to be, how they wended their way through the cases, and why they are important in terms of outcome and legal precedent. This is a book that I'm glad to have read and one that I would highly recommend to others.

engrossing, revealing, shocking, fascinating -- 10 gritty women who won big cases at great personal loss
Format: Kindle
Thankfully, women no longer have to pay more for retirement plans, and get lower payouts, than men. Amazing how many different, inventive the ways were in the 1960's to keep women out of jobs. Bless Title VII and the attorneys and clients who fought these battles; we stand on their shoulders. The saddest part is the update, at the end of the book showing how protections against gender discrimination in the workplace have weakened in recent years. In particular, it has become difficult, or nearly impossible, to prove that a hostile work environment exists so long as employers pay lip service to certain ideas and practices and hide what's really going on--which we working women KNOW still goes on, unfortunately.

Entertaining, personal history of landmark cases

Amazing look behind the scenes at the people (plaintiffs and lawyers) who made equality for women at work a reality. Compelling, heartwarming, and educational - should be required reading for anyone who holds a job in 21st century America - both to learn how far we've come and to see the ways in which we need to continue the fight for equality at work.

Great Process for Presentation Noobs
Format: Paperback
I had already agreed to give a workshop to my co-workers about how to give more effective presentations when I purchased this book for prep. I immediately adapted the recommended process. After years of creating my own slide decks I have my quirky development process. Following the guidelines in this book will allow anyone at any skill level to methodically create a dynamic slide deck and give a speech that will move the audience to action. I wish I'd had it 35 years ago, when I first started making slide decks, before I learned the hard way that bullets kill.
