Six Questions Your L & L Hawaiian Barbecue Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

Expert Franchise Unit Analysis

We built this franchise unit financial model using our own research to help you navigate the restaurant franchise investment analysis. Key assumptions like the $1.12M year-one revenue and the 4% royalty fee are pre-populated with researched data and are fully editable to match your specific location. This tool ensures your budgeting for a new franchise unit opening is grounded in real-world numbers, not just brand marketing.

Core Model Components

  • Revenue and catering drivers
  • Detailed labor and FTE schedules
  • CAPEX and startup investment

Profitability Timeline and Trajectory

Based on the year-one EBITDA of $284,000 and the 3-month break-even analysis, this unit reaches profitability by March 2026. The model accounts for food ingredients starting at 13% of sales and a total labor spend for a full crew, showing a clear path to $638,000 EBITDA by year five as you optimize the restaurant franchise catering revenue model.

Improve Unit Profitability

  • Optimize line cook FTE counts
  • Grow high-margin catering contracts
  • Reduce packaging waste and costs
[dynamic_pic9]

Capital Allocation and Sources

Launching this unit requires a total initial investment of approximately $570,000, covering the $35,000 franchise fee and $250,000 in leasehold improvements. This startup cost breakdown for fast-casual food franchise operations ensures you have enough capital for the $120,000 kitchen equipment package and the $45,000 POS system before the doors defintely open.

Major Capital Uses

  • Leasehold Improvements: $250,000
  • Kitchen Equipment: $120,000
  • Furniture and Fixtures: $55,000
[dynamic_pic10]

Investor Returns and Payback

The return on investment calculation for restaurant franchise owners shows a 4-year payback period and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 3.97%. While the IRR is conservative, the return on equity (ROE) of 1.43 indicates steady wealth building, especially as revenue scales from $1.12M to over $2M by year five.

Key Investment Metrics

  • Internal Rate of Return: 3.97%
  • Years to Full Payback: 4 Years
  • Return on Equity: 1.43
[dynamic_pic11]

Monthly Break-Even Targets

The break-even analysis shows you must clear a monthly fixed cost hurdle of roughly $13,500, which includes $9,000 for prime location rent and $2,000 for utilities. Your primary lever for reaching this point faster is throughput, specifically managing the $68,000 store manager and $55,000 assistant manager salaries against early foot traffic.

Levers for Faster Break-Even

  • Increase average ticket via kiosks
  • Tighten food waste and COGS
  • Phase in crew as traffic scales
[dynamic_pic12]

Cash Runway and Liquidity

Your lowest cash point occurs in June 2026 at $745,000, which includes your initial capital and operating reserves. This Excel template for restaurant franchise financial projections suggests a healthy buffer, but you must monitor the timing of the $250,000 build-out payments to avoid unexpected working capital pressure during the ramp-up.

Protecting Unit Cash Flow

  • Phase furniture CAPEX payments
  • Delay supervisor hires until month two
  • Manage opening inventory levels
[dynamic_pic13]

Scenario and Sensitivity Outcomes

Comparing high and low scenarios shows how a 10% swing in revenue shifts the $284,000 year-one EBITDA significantly. This financial planning for multi-unit franchise operators allows you to stress-test how 4% franchise royalty fees and 2% marketing funds impact the bottom line when local labor costs or delivery fees spike.

Hitting the High Case

  • Execute Mueller local marketing
  • Maximize catering revenue streams
  • Maintain peak hour throughput

PASSED MY INSPECTION! THIS PRODUCT WORKS LIKE A MIRACLE DONT HESITATE TO BUY IT!
Inspection on my car due the end of January! My check engine light was coming on so I checked with a code reader & found it was a P0420. Read about the Catalytic Converter System possibly being in need of replacement or perhaps clogged. I am a woman, and know next to ZERO about cars, but I can read. Did investigate and found that the replacement of a Catalytic Converter system is mad expensive- also found this Moly Cleaner to add to gas tank. I'm not going to lie; I was nervous as I have a Kia Rio 2014 that has a very small gas tank and gets great gas mileage. In reading the consensus seemed to be to add to 1/4 tank of gas and drive fast for good periods of time to blow out the clog (if it was a clog). Did I mention I live in NYC and driving for long periods of time at high speeds can be a problem because of terrible traffic. Anyhow, this Saturday I poured the can into my 1/2 filled tank and hit a parkway near my home early morning. I did drive for 45 miles sometimes at 80mph then 60mph but tried to do it for a good few minutes at a time without getting pulled over. Checked my reader again, and it was not quite ready but the engine light did stay off. Next day, drove to work, stuck in traffic somewhat & never made it over 20mph & checked my reader again- all good to go for inspection. Went last night- my car PASSED and got that sticker in my window- so I am good for another year. The BEST money I have spent all year. Thank you for carrying this product! Saved me thousands! DONT HESITATE TO USE THIS. The hardest part for me was removing the cap on the can!

Great stuff
Seemed to work as well as or better than some more expensive catalytic converter cleaners. I put it in while at 1/3 tank and my Check Engine light went out almost immediately once I started driving. My Tundra has almost 230,000 miles and still runs great but was getting a little harder to start after I switched from full synthetic oil to conventional. I’ll never do that again and immediately switched back but the damage was done. Check engine light came on and I had to crank longer to get it started. Adding this Liquid Moly fixed both issues temporarily. I have to wonder if this was used regularly, say every 3 months, if it would clean the catalytic converter more permanently?

Nice Filter Wrench for my Volvo V70XC!
Size: 86mm x 16
I was needing a filter wrench for my 2001 Volvo V70XC and couldn't find anything that fit from the local auto parts stores. Not knowing what to expect, I took a chance on this one since most of the reviews were 5 star and the price was exceptional. When I received it, I was quite pleased with the construction and finish. I have a brand new oil filter housing for my Volvo (since the one currently on my car is chewed up from the former owner using slip-jaw pliers or something on it) and the fit is perfect! I have worked as a mechanic my whole life (aircraft & automotive), and spent a couple of years as a technician at an automotive dealership and I can say that the tool looks like it is designed for heavy-duty use. The stamped steel housing is thicker than those found in local auto parts stores and the drive adapter has a thick arc welded bead along the inside of the tool. So, it appears to be made to hold up to some fairly heavy torque. Although the product description states that it is 1/2", the drive adapter is actually made for direct attachment to a 3/8" drive. Perhaps this error stems from the fact that they offer a much larger wrench (118-131mm) and this is a more accurate description of their other offerings. The 3/8" drive adapter works perfectly and a 21mm socket fits nicely on the external hex. Fits with SAE sizes are a mixed bag, though. I was able to attach a 13/16" 12-pt. box-end wrench, but not the opposing open-end. A similarly sized 13/16" 6-pt. socket was extremely tight, so I wouldn't recommend this size and would just go with the 21mm if you had to use the external hex. Otherwise, just use the 3/8" drive adapter for easiest use of this tool. The adapter also incorporates ball detents on all four sides of the internal 3/8" drive, so your ratchet or extension won't easily fall off while in use. Since this tool is made for oil filter removal & installation, I'm sure that it will deliver as promised. I'll post an update after my next oil change and I get a chance to use it and install the new filter housing I have.
