In 2010, in order to improve the natural reproduction opportunities of the northern white rhinoceros, people sent the 38-year-old Sudan and three other northern white rhinoceros back to Africa. They lived in the Ol Pejeta Nature Reserve in Kenya. Sudan was able to return to his hometown in his twilight years. They have all lost the ability to reproduce offspring, which means that we humans are about to witness the extinction of this species.
