Sporting a highly lightweight design, this lens weighs just 10.5 oz, making it ideal for traveling. A newly developed dual-phase linear motor suppresses focus breathing and allows near-silent lens operation. Not only is this motor a benefit for still photography, it is also a great asset for capturing high-quality video. A 1:1 magnification ratio and a minimum focusing distance of 8" is available for working with close-up subjects. The featured 9-bladed circular diaphragm creates a flattering, round bokeh. The Lumix S 100mm f/2.8 delivers crisp image sharpness while maintaining compactness by incorporating three aspherical elements, two ultra extra-low dispersion elements, and one extra-low dispersion element. Additionally, this design greatly contributes to reducing chromatic and spherical aberrations.
