Omega Constellation Ref. 14902 – The Precision Icon of Mid-Century Swiss Craft

A pinnacle of Omega’s post-war horological design, the Constellation Ref. 14902 exemplifies the brand’s mastery of chronometric performance and architectural casework. Introduced during the golden era of mechanical watchmaking, this 1962 example unites form, function, and finesse in a uniquely compelling package. It’s a watch that whispers its pedigree through nuance and detail—a classic built not to shout, but to endure.

Dog Leg Case – Angular Elegance with a Purpose

The 34mm stainless steel case presents Omega’s celebrated “dog leg” or “lyre” lugs, conceived by the famed case manufacturer Huguenin Frères. These sharp, sculptural lugs break the circular symmetry of the round case, lending a crisp architectural edge that feels modern even today. Preserved in impressive condition, the case shows sharp transitions and well-defined chamfers—evidence of careful preservation and expert servicing.

At its crown sits the original octagonal Omega-signed crown, subtly reinforcing the watch’s distinctive geometry. The watch retains its original Omega-signed Plexiglas crystal, with the tiny logo still visible at center—a delightful vintage hallmark for connoisseurs.

Onyx Dial – Understated Richness

The dial is a study in quiet luxury. A warm silver tone now lightly patinated by time sets the stage for applied faceted hour markers, each inlaid with vertical strips of black onyx—rare and refined. The applied Omega logo, Constellation star, and crosshair pattern speak to a time when dial execution was measured in microns and pride.

Despite its age, the dial remains untouched—original, unrefinished, and balanced. Light patina only enriches its character, speaking to honest age rather than fatigue. Dauphine hands sweep elegantly across the dial, completing a composition that is resolutely mid-century and unmistakably Omega.

Calibre 561 – Chronometer-Rated Mechanical Excellence

Beneath the caseback, adorned with the iconic Geneva Observatory medallion, lies the Omega Calibre 561—a COSC-certified automatic movement introduced in the late 1950s. This chronometer-grade calibre is revered for its accuracy, longevity, and robust architecture.

The movement has been recently serviced by a professional watchmaker and comes with a one-year mechanical warranty. Its buttery smooth winding and precise timekeeping offer tangible proof of the mechanical artistry within.

Handcrafted Belgian Strap – Modern Comfort with Artisanal Touch

Completing the package is a handmade black leather strap, crafted in Belgium. This strap offers a refined, supple wearing experience, balancing vintage authenticity with artisanal modern quality. Its understated elegance complements the watch’s design while ensuring all-day comfort.

Didnt last.
Didnt even last a day. My dog is a 40 pound lab mix and figured out how to unscrew the toy within the first couple of hours. He then detroyed the plastic screw system on the inside.

Super fun toy!!
This is such a fun toy! My dog loves running after it. The shape is perfect for a medium sized dog . He isn't into the round balls, but this football shape is easier for him. I love the automatic movement because it don't have to contactly be throwing it.

Great toy, too bad my Shih Tzu is afraid of it. I love the way the movement is subtle and random.

I wouldn’t recommend this for strong chewers.
Color: Orange, Color: Orange
Is it fun? Sure. Was it easy to charge and set up? Yep. That being said, this toy kind of fell flat for me. It really didn’t do any big movements once charged that I expected it to, so that was a bummer. I initially got it for my dog, but my cats were more interested in this than my dog was. The battery does seem to last a long time and the motor is pretty quiet. I WOULD NOT recommend this toy for strong chewers as the material for this is a foam rubber and I don’t think it’s durable enough for strong chewers. While the material makes this ball extremely lightweight for more movement, a strong chewer would have this disintegrated in five minutes flat. My Dog is a super strong chewer. I don’t think I would feel comfortable leaving him unattended with this because I know he would destroy it.
