Handmade Damascus Folding Knife with Pakka Wood Handle

This handmade Damascus folding knife is designed for everyday carry, outdoor use, and collectors who appreciate traditional craftsmanship. The blade is forged from layered Damascus steel, creating a natural twisted pattern that makes each knife visually unique.

Pick up this handmade Damascus folding knife and the first thing you feel is the file work running along the spine under your thumb. The blade carries a twisted Damascus pattern that no production run can replicate, and the blue Pakka wood handle sits solid and cool in a bare hand. Snap the back lock and it holds without any play.

The Blade

The blade is hand-forged from Damascus steel. Forging means layers of steel are folded and welded under a hammer, building a twisted wave pattern across the flat. The edge arrives sharp and the layered Damascus structure holds that sharpness through repeated work. The spine carries hand-cut decorative file work, visible from across a table and functional as a thumb rest during controlled cuts.

The Handle

The handle is Pakka wood, a stabilized composite that resists moisture, swelling, and cracking. The pictured version shows a blue and charcoal grain with a metallic sheen across the scales. Steel pins lock the scales firmly against the bolster. A steel bolster at the blade end adds weight forward of the fingers and keeps the balance point near the pivot. The grip is smooth under a bare hand and holds steady in a gloved hand.

The Build

The back-lock mechanism holds the blade firm in the open position. The spine-mounted release sits naturally under the thumb without requiring a grip change. The compact size closes to a pocket-friendly profile. The blade-to-handle proportion keeps the tip controlled during detail work and precise cuts.

The Sheath

A hand-stitched genuine leather sheath comes with every knife. The dark brown leather carries the embossed JW SteelCrafts mark and secures with a snap button. It protects the blade edge during storage. Slide it onto a belt or drop it into a bag pocket.

Real-World Use

This knife performs best on precise, single-direction tasks: opening packages, trimming cordage, camp food prep, and light field work. The daily carry user who wants one reliable Damascus folder every morning. The collector who keeps one piece in rotation rather than behind glass. The gift recipient who would never spend on a handmade Damascus folder for themselves but carries it from day one. Hand-forging builds a micro-structured edge that bites longer than a machine-stamped blade of the same profile.

The JW Difference

Every knife in this line is hand-forged individually. Minor differences in Damascus pattern, wood grain, and finish are natural and part of what makes each piece yours. Custom engraving is available. Contact JW SteelCrafts after purchase to arrange engraving details. Orders ship within 1 to 2 business days from the USA. Free shipping applies on all orders over $100.

Who Is This For

  • The daily carry user who wants a compact Damascus folder that opens clean, locks positive, and fits in any pocket.
  • The camper or hiker who needs a reliable backup blade for food prep, cordage, and light trail work.
  • The collector who wants a handmade Damascus folder with file work detail they can carry and use, not just display.
  • The gift buyer looking for a handmade knife that makes an immediate impression for Father's Day, Christmas, or a groomsman gift.

How to Use It

Hold the handle with your thumb resting on the file work spine. Open the blade with your opposite hand until the back lock clicks into place. Use a straight push-cut for rope and packaging tasks. Use a light draw-cut for food prep and camp work. Close the blade fully before returning the knife to its sheath.

How to Care for It

After Every Use

  • Hand wash the blade with warm water and mild soap.

  • Dry the blade and Pakka wood handle immediately with a clean, dry cloth.

  • Do not put this knife in a dishwasher. Heat and detergent damage the Damascus pattern and the wood scales.

Every Few Weeks

  • Apply a thin, even coat of food-safe mineral oil to the blade surface.

  • Wipe away excess oil before storing.

Storage

  • Store the knife in its leather sheath when not in active use.

  • Keep in a dry location away from humidity and direct heat sources.

Sharpening

  • Use a whetstone or a fine ceramic rod.

  • Maintain the original bevel angle and work edge-leading in one direction.

  • Finish with a few passes on a leather strop to realign the edge.

Is this knife legal to carry in the US?

3 Star Read,
Format: Kindle
This book wasn't bad, but wasn't my cup of tea. It's highly disappointing because the storyline is so original. There is no real conflict or resolution, so the entire thing feels flat. As a lover of omegaverse books, I know there is a ton of variety out there, and ov is really up to the author. But this one is weird. Omegas have multiple scent glands all over their bodies and go into week long heats every month. Alphas have knots in the middle of their shaft instead of the base, and the knot doesn't always swell, no explanation of when or why. It doesn't engage at all when the mouth is in play. I also didn't enjoy the author's writing style. Each paragraph is only 1 or 2 sentences long, and the entire book reads very stacato. The conversations are stiff and unnatural feeling. Everything is very repetitive, both in word choice and in thought. The same thing is repeated 3 or 4 times over a single page, multiple times over. I ended up doing so much skimming. The first 50% of the book is all slow burn, and the last 50% is almost straight mediocre spice. This wouldn't have been all bad if the grammar and spelling errors didn't start at the exact same time. Tongue is repeatedly misspelled in the middle of the spice.

Cozy Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
This is the true definition of Cozy Omegaverse. LA wedding coordinator meets her pack at the location for a couple’s destination wedding. Low angst because they are scent matched high heat with heats and knots. Everything you love about this genre with very little anxiety. Simply a fun experience to read and a book I will comeback to when I’m in a slump. I simply love reading this book

Cute Omegaverse story
Format: Kindle
3.75 stars and 2 for spice. Adorable Omegaverse story about a wedding planner who has to go to a small town to plan a wedding for a movie star. While there, she meets her pack. This covers her struggles of not living there but trying to keep her relationship going with her 3 Alphas. It's a quick read and cute, so I recommend it for people who like light-hearted RH stories.

real good
Format: Kindle
This was a solid read for the ABO universe. The characters are great. The smut scenes were well written. And the town is so cute I want to go there. It didn’t have much character development it just felt like I was getting to the characters as they were getting to know each other.

So sweet
Format: Kindle
It’s so unexpectedly sweet that it sneaks up on you. Each character is so unique and charming. I love the openness and honesty among their pack. It really blows me away how wonderful this omegaverse trope plays out. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
