IDENTIFYING THE YOWIE
Sixty Years of Australian Relict Hominology.
[from the Files of the Australian Yowie Research Centre.]

This book is a landmark in Australian relict hominin research, for it is a departure from all books concerning the ÔYowie MysteryÕ that have preceded it. For, rather than produce a ÔpopularÕ book on searching for the kind of hairy monstrosities preferred by the sensation-seeking media, the authors, Dr [hc] Rex Gilroy, and his wife and fellow researcher, Dr [hc] Heather Gilroy [both holders of honorary PhDs from C & C University in California, USA], have produced a book which by-passes unprovable sightings claims, to present the very Ôfossil foundationsÕ of each of the relict hominin races believed to inhabit AustraliaÕs remote wilderness regions.

From the fossil feet impressions gathered over many years by the Gilroys across Australia, they have been able to compare present-day impressions with identical fossil footprints, to identify surviving latter-day Australopithecines and Homo erectus [in both its giant-size and pygmy forms]. The authors also employ their growing fossil Hominin skull collection, to reveal that our land has a pre-Aboriginal hominin history dating back to Pliocene times.

This book presents fossil and stone artifact evidence from across Australia which matches present-day evidence, to prove that the ÔYowieÕ is not one but at least several living races, including a form of surviving Australopithecine!

Based upon scientific evidence in this book, the authors claim that our ancestors evolved first in Australia rather than Africa, to produce the several hominin races from which our Aborigines created the composite Yowie or ÔHairy ManÕ in their folklore. The Gilroys have solved the mystery of the ÔYowieÕ!

TOO SMALL
Size: Medium, Color: Blue
Nice socks, but they are way too small. Says they fit size 6 - 10. I kept 3 ( I wear size 8) and gave 3 to my daughter (size 8.5). We both agreed that they were just too small.

Post-COVID Sock Hunt: Finally a Win
Size: Medium, Color: (001) Black / Black / White
Ever since COVID, I haven’t been able to find a pair of socks that hold up for more than a few months. Brands like UA, Adidas, and others seem to have cut corners—likely in response to inflation—by downgrading materials and labor rather than raising prices. The result? Socks that wear thin, rip easily, or lose shape fast. These, however, have been a pleasant surprise. I’ve been wearing them for a few weeks and so far, they’re holding strong. You can tell some cost-saving measures were still made—certain areas feel slightly thinner—but overall, the construction is solid. A key win: they stay on. These are ankle socks (not “no-shows”), and they hug the ankle securely. That’s a huge plus in a world where most post-COVID no-shows slide off halfway through the day. We may never get back to the pre-COVID quality standards without paying a premium, but for now, these are a reliable choice. Ratings: • No slipping: 10/10 • Price: 7/10 • Durability (so far): No pilling or loose threads — promising start.
