If this isn't the most gorgeous 1950s Letterman Jacket then I don't know what is! This silk jacket was originally bright royal blue but has faded over the last 60 odd years to become the amazing purple ombré effect, the original blue is still visible on the tipped cuffs and hem of the jacket.

Complete with original silk and embroidered appliqué lettering spelling out the team "Holland Furnace" as well as a no. 6 on the lefthand shoulder, this pieces is still in very wearable condition.

It has a tiny spot of unfaded blue near the 'D' on the back of the jacket and a decent amount of ageing and small holes to the ribbed jersey cuffs and hem, so please check the photos for more details. The interior lining is cotton and is in great condition. There is a couple of small holes of age on the collar at the back but these are near unnoticeable, as well as some wear to the enamelled snaps at the centre front. If you would like more photos of the condition, please contact me at [email protected].

The fit is a men's Medium, for reference the model is a UK size 8, however, please check your measurements against those below:

Shoulder: 25 inches

Neck: 19 inches

Chest: 50 inches

Waist: 44 inches

Hem: 31 inches (unstretched)

Length: 25 inches

Sleeve Length: 31 inches (including cuffs and measured from shoulder neck point)

Please note that this is an original vintage item that has been pre-loved and has some age to it. It is still in very wearable condition however, it should be treated delicately as it is over 60 years old. For tips on cleaning your vintage pieces, please check our garment care page.

A wonderful edition!
Format: Paperback
I highly recommend this edition above all others available. The translation is very clear and lucid and actually makes Timaeus and Critias real page-turners. Not only is the translation great, but the introductory material is incredible. While one review here mentions that the translation misses some of the nuance of Platonic thought (which I don't necessarily agree with that), the introduction more than makes up for that. So many available editions of Timaeus are written by reluctant scholars who act puzzled as to why they've been asked to introduce Timaeus when they are obviously either not fond of it, or dismissive of it as an authentic piece of Plato's canon. At last, we have an edition that is faithful and generous to the source material!

The origin of Atlantis was orally passed down from an Egyptian priest.
Format: Paperback
I haven’t even finished it yet because I’ve been very busy with college. However, it is fascinating to read the story of Atlantis. Personally, I believe it was a real lost city. Mythology can sometimes be true if it speaks about lost cities.
