God commanded parents to teach their children both His doctrine and His law ÒAnd these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.Ó (Deu. 6:6-7). For a parent to fulfill this God given command, and it is a God given command that is still incumbent (a necessary duty or responsibility) upon mankind to this very day, especially Christians, they must first be a student of Bible doctrine. To teach someone something, the teacher must be both educated in and understand the subject matter, in this case, ÒBasic Bible Doctrines.Ó This is the duty and responsibility of three persons, three positions: the individual himself, the Pastor of the local church, and the Sunday School teachers of the local church.
