The heating element draws the minerals out of the water and bakes them onto itself, literally forming rock inside your machine. This creates for you all sorts of problems such as reduced water flow and shortened life of the unit. Integrated Pure Water System (I.P.W.S.©)
Great coffee begins with pure water. The advanced Clearyl Blue filtration system prevents water impurities from entering sensitive areas of the machine, causing damage, and altering the taste of the coffee produced. A change filter message will be displayed when it is time to replace the cartridge (about every 6-10 weeks or 15 gallons). Regular replacement of the Clearyl Blue water filter cartridge ensures the removal of chlorine, lead, aluminum, and copper for a better tasting coffee. A special organic additive also removes almost all calcium carbonate, the villain behind scale build-up. When changed regularly, these filters will nearly eliminate the need for decalcifying your machine (except in cases of extremely hard water).
Compatibility
The Jura 71445 Clearyl Blue water filter cartridge will always be installed in any of the models immediately below. In addition, some older models may use this Clearyl Blue Filter. Please see the list on the bottom for models. Jura or Jura-Capresso Impressa Series A5, A9,C5, C60, J6, Z7 One Touch, Z9 One Touch, F8 TFT, new All-Black F7 C9 One Touch units with Blue Flap on filter door of water tank (not black), J9 One Touch TFT, J9 One Touch Chrome, GIGA 5 as well as ENA super automatic coffee centers such as the: ENA 3 ENA 4 ENA 5 ENA 9, ENA Micro and ENA Micro 9. ATTN: For the models listed immediately below, if you have recently purchased a Refurbished Certified Pre-Brewed© model (since about October 2010) or have had to replace your water tank, please check the water filter door flap that secures the filter in place before ordering. Each flap has a circular dial on it, so you can track the date of filter installation. If this flap is Blue, order the Clearyl Blue filter on this page; if it is Black, order the Clearyl White filter or the Claris Blue filter as indicated below.
