Yarn Kit – Mazurka Jumper by Becci Pamely-Bast

Oh those top-down yoked jumpers, so much fun to knit but seriously difficult to fit properly. Comes Becci of Riverknits to the rescue, because she has developed a design that not only is such a wonderful play with colours, but that also fits perfectly no matter your body shape or size!

The mazurka is a popular European folk dance in 3-time with a playful, offbeat groove. When Becci made the Mazurka jumper, she worked repeating bands of 3 colours with slip-stitch cables to add interest and interrupt the rhythm. It’s not hard to see why it made her think of this dance!

The construction starts with a circular yoke, working top-down, and ends with a relaxed split hem. Incorporated into the design is an optional unique bust shaping, developed by Becci to improve the fit. This stroke of genius will literarily blow your mind.

This adult sized jumper is designed to be worn with a relaxed fit. Choose a size with 5-10 cm / 2-4″ positive ease on the chest.

Let's talk colours! Becci is the mastermind behind the nothing less than stunning Chimera, used as contrast colour 1 and 2 in the Mazurka, and for the main colour we've have paired this up with another strong handdyed favourite of ours, Black Elephant's Wensleydale. According to the KWA team this is a match made in heaven, bound to turn heads as you proudly strut around in your new favourite creation!

We've done the math for you, so according to your size the Mazurka Jumper Yarn Kit contains all the yarn you need to make your very own sweater, and it can be bought with or without the pattern.

In addition you'll need circular needles size 3.25mm and 3.75mm / US3 and US5, in 80-100cm / 32-40” length, and preferred needles in same sizes for smaller circumferences, a cable needle, spare cables or scrap yarn to keep sts on hold, a few stitch markers and a darning needle for weaving in your ends.
